You have shared this deal, which is great, but why would you create a chat topic about it? This proves that the recent comments regarding topic quality and points gathering are correct. Just when they were improving......😞

Hi angemski

I share your frustration regarding the very poor quality obvious point gathering chat posts, but think you should give Jackie the benefit of the doubt.

It’s a good deal Jackie but not unusual. Type ‘ballerinas‘ into the search box in the deal section and you’ll see sub £5 deals are pretty common. I just saw canvas dolly shoes at M&M Direct reduced to £2.99.

Johnny Maybe I wasn't clear in my post - I was praising the deal but disappointed that it could be almost duplicated, at the time of posting, as a topic and giving the link. I am also cognisant of the fact that she may well still be 'feeling her way' around the site - I'm still learning. I just hope that it doesn't encourage others to post a deal and then create a topic about it here or many will be turning off instead of getting involved.

angemski yes that’s the trouble when people abuse the LD points system and post any old rubbish in the chat section just for the points they get.

Johnny I'll agree with you "give Jackie the benefit of the doubt", but as others have said if we were all to start a topic about a deal we'd found it could become worse than disruptive, it's a different matter if someone asks about a deal on something to discuss it here. (recently has happened with lawn mowers and, children's stacking tubs)

Hi Jackie, I don't think anyone meant to abuse and maybe you haven't visited chat before as I don't recognise your name. However if you had been a regular here (I see you joined last September) you would have seen lots of topics regarding the constant stream of boring, repetitive topics that are very obviously only point gathering. We also kept getting loads of this v. that topics and it was driving everyone mad. Please feel free to contribute to chat and I am sure interesting topics will engender lots of interest and comment. Maybe have a look at current topics and see if any interest you.

Jackie - I doubt anyone was trying to abuse you, just trying to prevent a new trend (posting about own deals). Anyone can make an error of judgement when coming to this chat section for the first time and I feel sure that most will bear you no grudge, and by tomorrow this misunderstanding (on both sides IMO) will be almost forgotten.

I don't think for one moment your "Topic" had anything to do with points gathering and don't really think anyone else did either.

Welcome to the chat section - you might enjoy it, especially as some genuine "points gatherers" seem to be under control ☺
