Best Christmas Films
Ask a Question
Want to know everyone's favourite festive movie is! just in case I'm missing a gem! My favourite is Elf
ELF has got to take the no1 slot. But I love some of the old school too. Like Scrooged and miracle on 34th Street ( I always watch the old one and newer one ).
wyal5 scrooged is a good shout , I also loved santa claus the movie with Dudley Moore
wyal5 I agree with Elf, I'm not very christmassy at all but I must admit I do like Elf and I love Home Alone too!
Antiwoke I hope Bruce Willis gets better, but it seems when people get aphasia they never fully recover.
Hoping for the best for Willis and others suffering from aphasia.
My favourites are the original Scrooge/Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim and the only musical I really like which is Oliver. The snowman animation is also very good. A bit of Wallace and Gromit is also more appealing at Christmas.
I don't watch Christmas films unless I can help it! I've seen loads of them far too many times. I don't actually like Home Alone or Elf, but I've seen them countless times.
Home alone 1&2
Deck the halls
Jingle all the way ( think it's right title )
The Grinch
The Muppets Christmas carol
Nightmare before Christmas
The hogfather
Santa Claus (Disney one)
Christmas carol
Mrs Santa Claus ( Angela Lansbury)
Can add Arthur Christmas to the list too. And possibly prep and landing (think that's what it's called)
Oh my gosh l love Christmas tv for watching all the films but l also love Morecambe & Wise repeats
I love ELF, good quality family film we can all sit down too and have a laugh. My mother in law loves A Wonderful Life. She must watch it 100 times over December
It’s a wonderful life ! Always brings tears to my eyes no letter how many times I watch it . “ every time a bell rings an angel gets their wings .”
We watch the Gringe every xmas eve. It has become a real tradition in our house and gets the xmas vibes going.
Elf for me also it is about the only one I can tolerate, Asda are annoying me with the advert.
For me has to be Santa Claus The Movie staring Dudley Moore, thou I also love elf and National Lampoons Christmas
Elf is one of the best and also the nightmare before Christmas is a good non traditional one to watch
My favourite Christmas film is Home Alone. I never get tired of watching this and it’s good for the whole family.
Pjran Have you seen the "British" remake? The kid who played the role was just so unfortunate to be part of it.
He was awesome in Jojo Rabbit:
PhilipMarc No, I didn’t know and have never heard of this film. I’ll see if I can find it.
PhilipMarc the original films are usually the best. A few years ago Disney remade Mary Poppins, it was good but the original was better.
The Greatest Store in the World (1999)
Last Christmas (2019)
My favourite that I've seen this year, so far has to be a Channel 5 one, Puppy Love for Christmas (2021)
Falling for Christmas (2022) on Netflix is utter trash but in a good way!
