Best Way to Make Homemade Spaghetti Bolognese
Ask a Question
we all enjoy spaghetti bolognese (most of us) do you put in any secret ingredients in your homemade version?
Secret ingredients? I don't even put in the proper ingredients. I don't put red wine, celery or milk in mine. I do use finely chopped carrots and onion granules and nobody seems to complain. What about your version?
Have to have Worcester sauce as well as onions, mushrooms, tinned toms, Tom puree, oregano, beef oxo cube and of course mince meat and boiling water
eyeballkerry I would add minced garlic and chilli to what you have already listed. To be honest it is different every time I make it! Did a batch recently in the slow cooker with passatta rather than chopped tomatoes so have a few portions ready when I am.
eyeballkerry Apart from the Worcester I would def use the same ingredients. (might steal that one though as I use it in other recipes - thank you)
Not secret ingredients but i go grate everything because i dont like the lumps grated onion, carrot, mushrooms, garlic, mince, chopped tomatos, herbs and oxo cubes.
Most of my ingredients are chopped up small, think this goes back to when the children were younger and I have just continued the same way.
There's some great videos on youtube,I always make my own sauce, key is to let it simmer for while,so the flavours will be a lot better.Get some bay leaves too x
Just made a Spicy Carbonara tonight - pop in mushies with the cream sauce and added some of that cheap £1 Asda Danish Pepperoni or try the Spanish Spicy Chorizo chopped up into little squares and once its done a quick grind of fresh black pepper and some Parmigiano Regianno- perfick!

To make it taste really special you really need that expensive and very salty Parmigiano Regianno from Marks & Sparks - try it - it really enhances any spaghetti!
Hello Gary.
That sounds lovely as I really enjoy my spicy foods and am always on the lookout for recipes.
