What Was Your Best Present?
Ask a Question
We have just opened our presents, I've had the usual smellies, chocolate and booze. But I received a baby Yoda plushie from my son's girlfriend. I don't normally like soft toys and I'm in my 50s so was really surprised how much I love it. Did you receive any surprises ?
I got a fluorescent LED light fitting for my garage to replace the old one which kept tripping the RCD .
Great present , just finished putting it up , well chuffed with it .
Top tip : if you want a good present buy for yourself (and saves wrapping !) .
Tactical throwing knives , I was surprised anyone remembered I wanted them , first present opened and I was out using them , great !!
I got the usual jumper, socks, smellies and pjs. I did however just order myself a blu ray player. That I am looking forward to getting.
Its really easy for me . I know its been a truly rough year but whenever Ive had a particular bad day I just look at a photo of my son in 2019 at Thorpe park of him coming down a slide . My wife suprised me with a picture frame of it as his face never fails to put a smile on my face .
We got a cheque from Granny to cover the cost of our new cooker and TV! Couldn't believe it, was so surprised. The best present however was seeing how happy our son was playing with his new train and bus.
My partner done amazing. He got me a hoody, a spa voucher, gin, boots and a few other bits. Well and truly being spoilt
I've not had my son for a few years for xmas so the best present this year especially under the circumstances was just to spend some family quality time with him.. #some things money can't buy ❤ merry Christmas all hope you've all had a great day
I hope you had a good day. Sometimes it's the small things that make a day special, a phone call from mine would have sufficed. As I say it's not presents but the presence that matters.
We told our children, now adults, not to buy us presents to stay safe not needing to visit endless department stores. It actually worked beautifully no need to express gratitude for something you don’t particularly like or need or waste money. I think we’ll keep this up in future. Best thing is seeing and chatting with them.
We got a couple of nice bits from our parents, my mom and dad got us a ring doorbell, and my mom got me a lovely coat. His mom got us a new toaster and money. Plenty of chocolate as well which is a bonus - feeling quite spoilt as if they have compensated for not seeing us!
The best gifts I got were a kindle oasis, 10 tb back up drive and about 500 bath bombs. I'm exaggerating about the bath bombs but I got so many that I won't be needing any more for at least another six months
Got a bottle of my favourite perfume and a smart watch. Very happy with them and now onto the online browsing to spend some xmas money
My son and DIL asked me to say what I would like so I suggested I could do with a new dressing gown. After loads of questions regarding material, length, size and colour I was stunned to open a beautiful mauve, full length, soft hooded chenille gown which they said was the third attempt as first two they sent back! They also gave me loads of other pressies like toiletries, perfume etc.
