Best Supermarket to Find Good Reduced Food

I only really go to the same 3 supermarkets. I just look for reduced stuff when I'm in doing my weekly shop. I look in Lidl, Aldi and Asda. I think it depends on your local stores to be honest as to how good the reductions are and which ones are best.

I find our local Tesco is good but they have a set time for reducing the goods so you need to be there then. The chilled goods are separate from the reduced fruit and veg in our store.

Mark’s and Spencer’s also do some great reductions but are gone almost immediately!!

I go to my local Waitrose and partners store on a Sunday around 3pm and usually get some really great deals on quality food.

My daughter recently started doing reductions as an evening job. Every time I pick her up she lists All the things she has reduced That evening. I think she would like to bring them all home like people that work at animal rehoming centres do with dogs.

I can say my local Tesco Extra is the worse, often I see reductions of only 10% on fairly beaten up food items but then its a hugely busy store and I guess the footfall means they don't have to reduce more than that, other Tesco supermarkets seem better. Best reductions for me are Home Bargains, Morrisons, convenience stores and ok reductions are Lidls, Aldi, Iceland and Sainsburys. Timing is a big factor though, if I go in my nearby Coop store at the wrong time its tiny reductions but if I go in when they do final reductions its a big discount. The big discounting seems to happen between about 4pm and 7pm and only really happens if there is anything that hasn't been snapped up when they did the small reductions.

My local Morrisons, '2nd yellow sticker' this past week has been about 3.30 Some of the haul this month (so far) parsnips 11p various fruit 20p large yoghurts 40p fresh figs 10p eggs 20p chicken tika ready meal 62p Savings this month on yellows £31.06 (so far).

I went in to M&S the other morning and there was loads reduced. Great for getting stuff to put in the freezer.

We get lots of half price stuff from our local Food Warehouse/Iceland. As we live in a very multi cultural area and 90% of the products are not Halal/Kosher. Meaning much of the meat does not sell well. They vary the times of reducing though. So it's still a bit hit and miss.

Iceland/Food Warehouse are the best for me. I regularly get things there regardless of the time I get there. Some days they have an entire row of fruit and veg reduced. I got 4 packs of leeks for less than 60p total the other day and it was just in the middle of the day I got there, other times I go in the evening and there’s loads reduced then too.

Co-Op are the worst by far where I am though. They never actually take the reduced price, they scan it at full price, then argue with you if you request they reduce it to the price the sticker says it is now. There’s loads of food there usually that is reduced, they just won’t let you pay the reduced price.

I've never been to a food warehouse, lots of people are referring to it on here. What type of shop is it - a standard supermarket or abit more like iceland (where.most produce is frozen?)
