Best Supermarket for monthly shops?
Deals
Which supermarket is the best quality and best value in your opinion?!? My current thought would be probably Aldi but open to suggestions! Thank you.
I think Asda is good for value and choice however some of their own brand stuff I don't like Morrisons is a tiny bit more expensive than Asda but theres less waste as even their own brand stuff is great quality. And Tesco is so difficult to not impulse buy from, they put sweets, crisps, fizzy and ice cream on the end of every isle! It takes a lot of will power to shop healthily and not overspend at tesco! Tesco usually costs me about £15 more than Morrisons so Morrisons is my favourite
This is really interesting. Thank you so much for sharing! I must admit I think the same about Tesco, they also seem to have to tempting unhealthy snacks nearby!
EmilyDeals every Tesco seems to do it. It's worse with kids because they're asking for a different bag of junk food at the end of each isle plus tesco deals are never as good. They try to make you bulk buy with 3 for 2 offers or similar instead of just doing a good price on one item.
I usually end up with more on a Tesco shop but Morrisons is the best for yellow stickers late night great to fill the freezer up!!!
I agree that Aldi are probably best for main shop - I will occasionally use FarmFoods for a partial shop -for things that Aldi don't sell - I usually wait until I need over £25s worth - so I can use the vouchers that come through my letterbox every month.
I'm surprised at a few thing Aldi don't sell - two that come to mind are powdered mash and kippers, I've told them if they'd stock them they could have all my custom.
Waitrose has the BEST quality at good prices but not the cheapest. Also M&S has excellent quality food. I don't bother with other common supermarkets unless they really have something good on offer. I go over quality rather than quantity.
We go to morrisons or tesco for our shopping. I find morrisons a bit cheaper. I find that we can't do a main shop at aldi or lidl, plus our nearest aldi is too far to make it worthwhile for us.
I mainly shop in Tesco, but also use Sainsbury's, Co-op, Waitrose and M&S. I also like ASDA, but there isn't a store that close to home.
