Toilet rolls and some carving tools for my son would be top of my list this year.

I'm hoping to find something for my mother in law and Granny for Christmas. I've already got my sons presents and know what I'm getting my parents.

To be honest there's never anything that I specifically look for on Black Friday as usually keep an eye out for offers throughout the year.

I’m looking at not spending anything, I buy loads of stuff reduced what I just don’t and never would use but think its a good idea at the time.

I don't always have something in mind but like to look around to see the offers and see if anything takes my fancy. Some years there is nothing I want or the reductions are fake and other times there is just too much stuff and have to limit myself. I'm guessing but it feels like sometimes 95% of offers are not real offers, its pretty much same price as before or possibly even more expensive. The stuff that is a genuine offer doesn't last very long at all. Maybe a retailer will shift 50 units at that price but there are 500 people who wanted to buy it.

I avoid these sales as much as possible as I know some of the retailers bring out old stock they can’t get rid off and put it in this type of sale.

eyeballkerry Nothing wrong with old stock, its like bicycles at the end of the year September onwards they sell off the old stock at sometimes up to 40% off. Then replace it with next years range. The next years range are typically more expensive or you get a bike with downgraded components for the same money. So a £1000 bike may be sold at £600 end of season or you can buy the latest version in next years paintwork colours for maybe £1200 at full price. Of course end of season is only certain models, could be a less popular frame size or just less popular model in general. They predicted 8,000 sales and only got 5,000 so have to clear 3,000 in a short time. I'd personally never pay full whack as bicycles are a fashion item according to the industry and that is how they treat them a bit like a team's football kit. However most people just want a high quality bike and a £600 saving for basically the same bike is not to be ignored. If you buy in November at full price you only have to August next year when it becomes unfashionable again. If you buy full price in June in summer you only have two months before next year's range is announced which will then start filtering into shops in October/November or maybe December at the latest.

As usual looking for genuine , significant price drops . Too many retailers raise prices in the preceding weeks so they can "claim" 30%- 40% off 🙄. Which have an interesting and informative article on such practices " When is a Black Friday Deal not a deal " .

We must understand the value of things we might buy and not be swayed by the % off .

Of course all the Amazon favourites echos , dots , shows , tablets etc , etc will be once again reduced (probably just back to Prime Day levels ) and price matched by Argos , Currys , John Lewis etc .

I already have 2 airfryers ( 4.2 litres and 5.8 litres ) so not after another one but I'm shocked by the way the prices have skyrocketed ! Paid £28 for the Tower 4.2 litre in Feb and £57 for the Breville 5.8 litre in April . Probably double those prices now , that's not inflation it's profiteering !

Gifts for family. And a #Hateisavirus shirt. Been looking to get it in the UK and it's like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

A Nintendo switch for my son. Where do you think the best place to buy it will be?

TheaFrancis , I know you could look through latestdeals app and it will come up with options on the best deals around. Also depends on what model you are wanting to buy and if you want games. Again on how you want to pay for it as Very you can pay later same as Argos if you have a store card etc. Not sure but I'm sure i saw it last year on Amazon and you could pay over 5 months.

Haven't posted any as I'm out of touch with current TV prices (and I only ever post deals that I know to be great ) and still happy with my 15 month old 55" LG 😃.

I’m not really looking for anything. I’m not really convinced that Black Friday deals are much better than deals that can be found on any other day to be honest.

If I may remind everyone the Latest Deals app has a 'Deal Alert' function. You can search for a term, such as 'microwave' and set up an alert. So if there's a Black Friday deal on it you'll get a notification!
