Board Games What's Your Favourite

Ask a Question

I personally dislike Monopoly as it takes too long, ditto Trivial Pursuits. But I like Scrabble and Cluedo. What is your favourite board game ?

My family love Monopoly on a cold and wet winters day, as gives us something to do. We are all very competitive, so will always play to the death until we have a winner 🤣

Not sure if it counts as a board game but I’ve always loved Boggle. I prefer playing the 5x5 version, and I like to play where you can only find words of 6 letters or more for an added challenge.

Cluedo is a lot of fun, definitely one of my favourites. I used to love Guess Who? when I was younger, if that counts as a board game.

I love Monopoly, my eldest son loves it and PayDay too. Always very competitive though 😬

Glad I'm not the only one who hates monopoly. The game should be over when you've lost your money all this remortgaging property is silly

People dont like playing scrabble with me because my spelling is useless without a spell checker

Me too, my husband has to give me a 100 points start to even up the game as he is really strategic 🙂

I love Monopoly, but nobody will play with me anymore.

Safe to say I get a little "competitive"

My favourite board game is Ludo. It’s an Indian board game for 4 players and fairly simple to understand.

I remember Ludo from my childhood, haven't seen it for many years, great and easy game to play, probably for three years old and upwards, 2,3 or four players. It was often on the other side of a Snakes and Ladders board or in same box. (same counters, and dice etc. so two games for the price of one)*, I preferred Ludo - I didn't know it was from India.

*Just remembered there were usually a few larger counters too so Tiddly Winks could be played too (so three games). Great game of skill but not really a board game.

I suspect it's where Cluedo (another good game) got its name from.

davidstockport In my home country its still very popular. Even today, as you said, when you buy the board, you get snakes and ladders on the other side.
