Boots will be Reducing the Points from 4 to 3 Points per Pound from May 2023

Other

High street beauty giant Boots has issued a warning to anybody with an Advantage Card. From May, a popular feature is being changed for all shoppers in all stores.

As of May 23, shoppers will no longer be able to get 4p-worth of points when they spend £1. Instead, this will be replaced with a new system.

From May 2023, Advantage Card holders will now get 10% off Boots own-brand products, and collect 3p for every £1 you spend. You'll get to keep the number of points you've already collected, and they'll still be worth the same amount.

I am very, very annoyed with this "scam" by Boots. I have been with them from the beginning when they had "points machines" in selected stores, and you could get 100 points for spending just 62p.

Apparently there will be more deals like that in the near future to make up for the reduction from 4 to 3 points

jam45 Many of us probably missed that ONE POUNDs worth of points to spend in Boots - which only required a 62 pence spend in Boots.

Why didn't you let us know?... Collectively we could have bankrupted them.😀

How is it a scam. They are just changing their T&Cs which they are within their rights to do. Personally I don’t think Boots will be around in 2-3 years time.

You’re welcome. Don’t forget that they do a recycling program that you get 600 points when you upload 5 empty containers to the recycle app and drop off at Boots. Once dropped off you need to spend £10 within 3 days in store to get the points

jillylovesyou Surely if they can give £1.20 (in points) for each empty container (if you jump through a few hoops) doesn't it indicate how overpriced the items were before they were emptied.

The six poundsworth of points, you get, then have to be used by spending ten pounds on similarly overpriced items.

You can recycle anything even the 50p range on that basis you will actually make a profit 😊😊

But also how many of us just throw these out. 600points is great incentive plus a lot of us spend over £10 when in Boots. Think it’s way to stop us throwing these containers out

Spend £10 and get £6 back, I think it’s a great idea

I don't shop at Boots that often anymore, only when I need something I can't get when doing my weekly shop. I'm just happy that they are still doing the points scheme, everywhere is cutting back and giving less now.

Only reason I use boots is the points.

I buy from Boots mainly online but begrudge paying for store delivery. I think I’ll use Superdrug more in future.

No surprise here. Ultimately all 'advantage cards' are set up to primarily benefit the retailer!

I don’t shop in boots often but when I do I mainly buy boots own brand so this may work out better for me.

I don't really shop at Boots anymore as find I can buy same products elsewhere for cheaper.
