Botched Lip Fillers
Ask a Question
My niece has decided to get lip fillers. She’s obsessed and despite articles like the one below, I can’t seem to persuade her to reconsider:

Does anyone have first-hand experience of lip fillers? Good or bad?
My neighbour has had it done. But only slightly. I noticed the difference. It’s not to bad. Ask long as she doesn’t add more. Or it can look very silly in my opinion.
I think it’s one of those things where you got to let her try it. But if she goes ahead with it just make sure she goes to a decent place.
We had someone bad locally a while ago. Caused so much damage.
rossruby1977 I worry she'll do it once then lose all perspective and end up with a trout pout.
Why will folks never learn that beauty is natural and shines from within . Do people not realise how crass and ugly painted (and pouted) faces look ?
All to copy some "influencer " on facebook or wherever . Just shouts out "I'm thick " to the world at large .
HappyTravels and Golfforall me too .... why be so self obsessed ... just focus on enjoying what you're lucky enough to have, I say.
I don't think it's a sensible idea at all. Many women have regretted their decision to have fillers and when you see the before and after photo's most of them look far better before it. Perhaps she ought to google it first?
My brother has them done on a regular basis, when he first got them done he only had a small amount injected but over time he has more and more added each time. We have told him he is going to look like trout lips but he takes no notice! After about 4 weeks you cant even tell he's had them done, they go back to normal size. I know a few people who have had it done and one of the girls look completely ridiculous - looks like she's stuck her lips on the end of a hoover pipe!
I think young people feel a lot of pressure to conform to a certain look. Peer pressure and the media have always played a part in this but social media has taken it to a whole new level. Invasive procedures such as Botox and fillers are almost looked upon as getting your nails done. The industry is poorly regulated so if your niece is adamant, perhaps help her by finding a good, well qualified and reviewed therapist?
I think it depends who gives them as I have seen women who look horrendous. Personally I would love to have bigger lips but thinking about the outcome it really puts me off.
There’s nothing worse than a trout pout especially when you can see we’re the needle has gone in to do it and people think this looks good if you were meant to have a rubber trout pout you would be born with it then how many people would want smaller lips lol
I don't think theres ever anything wrong with people taking care or wanting to improve their appearance. Fillers are a step too far tho imo. 9 out of 10 times I think it just ends up looking ridiculous.
One of my friends had it and looked fine at the start now 3 years on her lips are all wrinkly
