Boxing Day and Christmas Trees Getting Took down
Other
Can't believe people are taking their Christmas trees down already I feel mine is just up
Mine will be coming down tomorrow to make room for my sons new toys so we can get some of our living room back!
It's only once a year and It's for the children so you should leave it up a little longer.
I would probably take mine down they annoy me after Christmas but they will probably stay for now
Imnotcheap I love mine up I hate taking it down takes that long to put it up for a couple of weeks then the house looks so bare
Iโve always taken mine down boxing day or day after. My kids are nearly 18 so they arenโt too fussed if they go up or down.
This year it was Boxing Day as we now have to finish packing our house up to move in two weeks.
MelissaLee1 mine comes down on the 5th I love it up and hate taking it down it always cheers me up loads of people put it up in October probably fed up looking at it now
MelissaLee1 I know people are getting earlier every year iam 12 days before Christmas and 12 days after
I did put mine up a bit earlier than normal this year, 2nd Dec but will take it down straight after the New Year.
I will be taking mine down either the 29th or 30th as itโs my sonโs birthday on New Years Eve. Iโve done this for years as it makes way for birthday balloons and cards
I follow the old Christian tradition from the 1500s and keep everything up until Candlemas on 2 February.
Itโs a dreary time of year and to have an extra month of lights and tinsel is good from a feel good factor and also only put everything up a week before Christmas this year so for the effort to take them down so quick always seems a shame too
Mine always go up super early 1st November and I usually take mine down boxing day. This year we have kept the tree up as its our first real tree. So that will say till new year.
I didn't even put mine up this year, as it was put in the loft and had no way of getting it, was so disappointing as the house felt dark and gloomy.
Not that I seen anyone to even ask or help.
Spent Christmas alone and couldn't get out I had a sandwich to eat.
Wot I shared with my dog.
Then curled up in bed to keep warm.
Anyway happy new year to you all and health and happiness to you all.
purevintage1 thats a shame you had no one to get it for you at least you have your dog they are the best company hopefully you will have a better new year and all the best for 2023
Mine is coming down tomorrow as it takes a lot of space
but also having little gtrand kids who want to wrck it doesnt help
hope you all had a good Xmas!
Glitterandgold yes I like mine up until after New year I gradually take the Christmas ornaments away so it's not to bare lol
I hardly put any up as we were away before Christmas and wasnโt going to have Christmas Day at our home, but change of plan we did. Nobody worried the home wasnโt decorated. But usually I am ready to take down stuff after the day but hold on until the New year.
I suggested to my wife that we should take the tree down, but she was having none of it. It would be nice to get the house tidy again without all the Christmas stuff everywhere
Carlton1512 I think it's to early to I don't like new year it always like to keep my tree up to after it I have Christmas stuff everywhere in my house
kate1310 We've had our Christmas stuff up since the 1st weekend of December as that was the only time my daughter and wife was not working or doing other things. Even my daughter said last night, we really need to put the Christmas stuff away now, and she absolutely loves Christmas
Carlton1512 did she iam off work until the 9th so I have plenty time I only put mine up the week before Christmas
I've taken both trees down (front room and kids room) all boxed up and back in the attic by 10.30am this morning. I was going to take them down yesterday but my partner told me I wasn't allowed, so when he went out this morning I got to work house is all tidy and back to normal now...well kind of, just more toys
PinkElephant26 did you lol mine is still up I love it up only put it up the week before Christmas hate taking it down
Ours has been up since the beginning of December so I'm getting to a point where it needs to be packed away soon but not quite yet.
I feel that my free has outlived its cheerfulness. I need to clean behind it and put the room back to normal. I sound like a proper grinch! Sorry
Auntielettie thats an excuse lol plenty time for cleaning I hate taking mine down its so bare
We didn't really have many decorations up, just a small potted live tree (which will stay, but will remove the baubles and lights) my Christmasy style candle holders are often out throughout the year, as they are mainly silver snowflakes.
I did however take the cards down this morning, I was tidying up and it feels cleaner/fresher.
January 3rd at the earliest .Utterly detest January as the room looks like the weather depressing . I would if I could get away with it not take them down as each year I buy more and it takes longer to take them down .
stuartsmith544 I hate January to it must be the worse month so depressing I buy more decorations every year takes me days to put all my stuff inside and outside my house I would be happy keeping it up until the end of January as it cheers me up
