Where Do You Buy Your Grocery Shopping From?

Money Saving

Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Sainsburys, Waitrose, Home Bargains etc.

Would love to know the quality of shopping in each of these stores. Quality of food, customer service, stock control, budget saving...

We can normally get next day deliveries from Iceland and we get one every 4 weeks from Tesco.

Iceland can be a bit limited tbh.

As for Tesco, the last delivery we had wasn't too bad, but for some reason, they couldn't find a substitute for a 4 pint bottle of milk. Are they telling me that they didn't have any replacements in the whole shop?

We haven't been able to get any slots with ASDA or Sainsbury's for a long time.

The only other things that we might go the local shop for is bread or milk, but we don't use a lot of either, so it's very rare.

We prefer Aldi but had to go to Tesco more since moving house and the nearest Aldi being further away. We've tried to be good during lockdown and only go to Tesco to minimise travel as well. Aldi is still better though. It's not just cheaper but we find the food is generally better. The tills (before lockdown) are more efficient in Aldi too. There is no messing around.

Dennab Yep, grab your stuff, put it back in your trolley and bugger off to pack it up at the back.

Dennab The Aldi in my town is quite far from where I live especially since i’m not a driver. I would love Tesco to price match Aldi because then that would just be a game changer. Food at Tesco was more expensive than Asda, last time i checked.

Jeffa Tesco claim on one advert to be cheaper than Aldi. I think they carefully selected certain products for that!

It varies, but most of the time is Tesco or Morrisons, with the occasional shop at Asda if I am in that neighbourhood and Iceland when we need frozen stuff. I occasionally go to Sainsbury if I am in the area. At the moment we have been shopping at Tesco as it is the closest and I've been able to get click and collect. I go to Lidl when I'm in the town, but I never do a big shop and our Aldi is too far away. I don't like how fast they put stuff through at Aldi. I know the idea is that you just chuck it all back in your trolley and then pack it properly afterwards but I find that doing that actually takes me longer and is more hassle, especially when you have a toddler with you.

MrsCraig Yes, but them are the rules.

If you don't like it, shop somewhere else.

There's nothing more annoying than people in Aldi packing their shopping up at the till.

TheChimp I do shop somewhere else, as stated in my post. I don't go to Aldi because it is too far away, not because I don't like their packing policy!

MrsCraig Well I do.

I can't stand waiting around for people to pack their stuff at the tills.

I go between Asda and Aldi. Only because they are opposite each other locally.

SonsOfPitches Oh if only that was the case here, I would love for both of these stores to be closer to each other, that would make grocery shopping so much easier!

Over the time I shopped in all of the supermarkets and my personal favourite is Waitrose. The prices are not always the chipset but you pay for quality and fantastic customer service 🤗

mso That is quite interesting since i haven’t ever shopped in waitrose before only because it is no where near where i live. However, i will have a look at their store if i am in that area. Might even leave a review about their store if i find the food is worth the price.

Jade46 my favourite has been Asda for shopping but ever since their queues have been terribly long especially in the past days where the weather has been so hot and warm! I have to shop elsewhere for my grocery like Tesco.
