What to Buy Parents
Other
My parents have a cluttered home and are very fussy when it comes to presents any ideas thank you!!
A meal in a nice restaurant, or depending on budget a weekend trip or spa, something the can enjoy together maybe?
Food or drink related gift. Either a voucher like others are suggesting, some wine, or something they can cook with maybe?
Be there for them, perhaps some food and a cake for a small party. I admit, I should take my own advice as it's hard to be away from your own parents, unless they wronged you.
I usually take mine out for a meal, or do something with them at home. They don’t need more things. If they do, they normally tell me
I don’t have a clue what to get for my parents either so this year I have made my own hamper for them. I got a free cardboard box from the fruit and veg section in the supermarket and wrapped it in Christmas paper and filled it with food and drink items they will like. You can then control how much you want to spend with how many items you choose to put in there
My parents are in there later years 85 and 90 this year as they have been very ill I have done them a food and sweet hamper as they don't drink alcohol or smoke put stuff like marmalade jams shortbread tea coffee coconut mushrooms boild sweets sandwich spreads chocolates hand creams instant mash noodles some thing they can cook there self's when I nip out
Tickets for events....if they never go out sure they have interest...like reading books....etc
You haven’t said if they have a garden. If they do a garden centre voucher would most probably be very welcome. I’d enjoy spending that, they could take me with them.
What a lovely idea and I have other family members who I know would love this sadly they don’t have a garden anymore however this would be a great idea for other family members thank you!!
Age? Budget? Hobbies? Hard to advise without a bit of info. If they live near London and are still active there is a link for half price theatre tickets on my chat thread 'Phantom of the Opera '.
Practical things they need or things I've seen them look at but won't buy themselves. Alternatively, experiences are great presents and you can buy vouchers last minute!
