Cadbury or Galaxy?
Ask a Question
Which one do you prefer. For me it’s always Cadbury Eventhough I do enjoy Galaxy
I like both. Although, for me Galaxy has the edge on taste, but Cadbury has a more extensive range. I recently tried the new Cadbury Out of the Blueberry - very nice
I'll eat either to be fair as its chocolate but my favourite is most definitely Cadbury Dairy Milk
I go for the el-cheapo 30p chocolate mainly which you can get in most supermarkets for the 100g size but my preference is Galaxy unless its Cadbury's fruit and nut although nowadays there seems more fruit and less nut in the cadbury's bars. To be honest though Lidl do a 200g bar of a fruit and nut type chocolate and I mainly stick to that. I'm not a great fan of Lidl's products but that is definitely a winner to me.
Depends on how much im eating. I like both but galaxy would be first choice but i can get sick of galaxy quicker than cadburys
Galaxy definitely although the last bar I had was Cadbury. I like to get a few different bars broken up in a tin and grab a couple for different taste and textures
Imnotcheap yes thats true, i snap it up when on offer, my other half loves it too
It’s got to be Cadbury milk chocolate! I will eat Galaxy (obvs!!) but Cadbury would be my preference out of the two.
I love both Cadbury and Galaxy, but Cadbury is the one I eat the most so I guess that’s my favourite.
I only live about 10/15 mins from Cadbury World and have never been there even though I love chocolate. Galaxy is definitely the winner for me, but I would eat whatever chocolate as long as it’s plain milk
I like both but I think Dairy Milk is more chocolatey but Galaxy is blander? If that makes sense
neither. Both are low quality, filled with sugar and other derivatives I don’t care for. I like high cocoa content, and neither companies manufacture such items
A very fair point but I have to say I detest the high cocoa content chocolate, often like plastic to me and don't like it at all even if a bit healthier, the UK/US style chocolate is miles better to me taste wise. Saying all that I find toffee a much nicer treat than chocolate.
BonzoBanana yes it’s an acquired taste. I like pure cocoa from South America, which is quite bitter, and can be a but spicy. I’m not a fan of sweet treats
hspexy Do you have a sweet tooth at all? Just wondered if that is why people like high cocoa chocolate because the less sweet taste is more appealing to them. To me pretty much anything that contains both sugar and fat is a instant winner to my taste buds.
BonzoBanana no I don’t really enjoy sweet things. I do like cheesecake, but that’s usually because of the creaminess and crunchy, crumbly biscuit base, not if it’s sugary or syrupy. I’ve had a more savoury version of cheesecake in the past, and I much prefer that
If I had to choose it would definitely have to be Cadburys all the way, always been my favourite.
Always preferred Cadbury, I find galaxy too thick and creamy - obviously a lot of people like that though! But i struggle to eat a lot of it... although that’s probably better for the waist line
Cadbury has never been the same since it was taken over by the Americans, a crying shame. The recipe now has more oil and has a more slimy feel in the mouth than before. It used to be chunky, 200 gm bars of chunkiness, my favourite was fruit and nut. Now all the bars are thin and flat weigh around 100/120gsm and that seems to impact on taste too!
I buy anything other than Cadburys these days but many on here may be too young to appreciate this insidious change!
And it was originally called "Cadbury's". It was later renamed to "Cadbury". But to me it will always be Cadbury's.
Bring back the good old Cadbury's chocolate which had the straight lined rectangular chunks.
As soon as they took over Cadbury's they closed factories and starting reformulating recipes to save costs, all these costs savings over the years will help pay for the Cadbury's acquisition. You get these generic factories that make products for many supermarket brands but you often find they make products for the big brands too like Cadbury's for minor or fringe products. I try to tune out the brand and buy products by quality only and sometimes a much cheaper products is as nice. You can get a fruit and nut style chocolate bar 200g for less than £1 from Asda, Lidl and possibly Aldi and maybe other supermarkets too. I've tried 2 of them and both were excellent and much cheaper than the Cadbury's version. If I don't care about the taste difference I won't pay the extra.
Galaxy! Its just soo smooth and creamy! I also think it less sweet than dairy milk which I prefer!
I think they have both declined in quality over the years. My favourite at the moment is Godiva chocolate.
I am a weak creature easily obsessed with Galaxy Smooth Milk. I also really like Hotel Chocolat, Lily O'Brien's and Thorntons. Death by chocolate....
i love both! the whole nut cadbury has been a fav of mine since i was a little girl! i do love plain galaxy though. i like how smoothly it melts in the mouth lol
Galaxy are currently running a bit of a cheeky marketing campaign. They are stating, It's official, people prefer Galaxy to Dairy Milk (although, this is based on a sample of only 201 people). Consequently, they are running an amnesty until the end of August.
Send us your unwanted Dairy Milk® and we’ll swap it for a Galaxy® bar.
It's freepost, but they will only send you a coupon back, which seems like a bit of a hassle.
Galaxy, just a smooth texture and nice flavour.
Cadbury sometimes for cream egg and whole nut.
I just like chocolate - dont really care which one - whatever has the best offer on at the time usually. I do enjoy all the new varieties that keep coming out I am a sucker for trying anything new when it comes to chocolate
It used to be Cadbury all the way for me until they changed the recipe, I do not get the same buzz from it anymore.
I must admit it has to be Cadbury chocolate for me, always been my favourite, love a Daim bar though which I believe is Swedish chocolate.
One of my favourite chocolate bars is the Twirl so I do prefer Cadbury, but I do like Galaxy as well.
