How Many Cases of COVID-19 in Your Area?

In the News

If you are wondering how many confirmed cases there are in your area follow the BBC link https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51768274 and put in your postcode. Up to now I live in an area with 1 confirmed case, my sister 0.

Good luck and stay safe.

Ann1984 I'm not sure what you mean by "it's 94 live in Wales" but why do you think that they will be unsafe? Have you read the stats on who is affected by this virus? I'm just intrigued by your logic.

Dennab well 11 local to postcode am not only one schools have emailed to say it’s ok for us too who’s to say one of my children is a carrier as 25 percent don’t show symptoms plus the link above is only giving yesterday figures its not updating

Ann1984 I see. You mentioned keeping them safe though. How is being a carrier with no symptoms unsafe to their personal health? Also, how have you managed to narrow it down to postcode? That website only gives a figure for an entire county.

Tbh I don't know and I don't care (apart from obviously sympathising with those who are sick) because I have Covid19 overload and have given myself a break from the news today. There is nothing I can do about any outcome, personally or for the country/world at large.

Whilst we should all be a little concerned, I certainly don't think we should all go into panic mode over it.

Whilst the covid-19 cases are increasing, what the media is failing to tell us is that many of those who contracted the virus are now recovering or already have recovered. Talk about scaremongering.

The third death - was reasonably local to me. And I STILL don't know who he was or exactly where he lived. I can think of one person who fits the description though.

We never know who we stand next to. I'm in the rural northeast but my daughter is a nurse on front line testing - we wait.

Apparently 3, but the mayor wanted to clarify in the local paper that at least 2 of the cases were brought into our local hospital from another area. I’m sure it’s far more, but not everyone is being tested

Only classes Wales as one place so doesn't give a real idea for where you live. There are 94 cases in Wales, out of a local population of 3,138,631

lilyflower i know we have different towns and counties so no idea how close. As far as ive seen on fb there are a few local families self isolating because of symptoms - some have returned from abroad recently (but they have been told they cant be tested). I dont think we have had any confirmed cases within a few miles radius 🙈

lilyflower The actual numbers change from day to day - and I consider the only reasonable way to get some idea is to compare the population with the number of cases.

Even then the figures are unreliable because it is only "confirmed" cases that are counted.

Furthermore if someone dies the population should be reduced by one.

Hope nobody's confused☺

lilyflower You can comment as many times as you wish - but you only get points for the first five - so no harm done? I don't even count but have probably (at 12;45am) already reached that limit. I don't post for points, I'd still post if there were no points at all. So don't expect me to shut up too quickly.☺

davidstockport I don't count either. It's very rude to stop just because you don't get points. I'm not here to see how quickly I can make £5. Don't expect you to shut up - you have some very interesting points and information.

davidstockport I couldn't agree more the figures are totally unreliable. My daughter was sent home from work to self isolate as she was feverish with cold symptoms, we took food to her and picked up our grandaughter. However, it transpires that my grandaughter still needs to go to school so she will go back to her mother today and return to school tomorrow. My daughter will not be tested as they have said they don't do it as this stage. My point being a) how many others are self isolated at the moment? b) out of them how many actually do have the virus? and c) if children from a home where someone is self isolating have to go to school and it turns out the person did have the virus surely that presents the opportunity to spreadit like wildfire? To me these official figures seem nonsense and have the potential to make people complacent or vice versa. I wholeheartedly agree not to panic and hysteria and stockpiling are no good to anyone but I think realism and concern are necessary. Even the scientists can't agree with each other over the best way to tackle this virus.

This site is inaccurate unfortunately. Not everyone is being tested unless they have underlying health issues already so it only gives a small snapshot of cases. My area is showing 11 and I know that figure is only about 1% of cases, we've had 3 doctors surgeries have to close due to it.

Please don't judge the severity by this site and think your area is OK
