Cast Iron and Induction

Ask a Question

Hi wonder if anyone could share any experience of this. My brother wants a set of cookwear which I want to buy as a gift for him however he thinks it is not compatible with induction hob being cast iron but looking on the stores website it says it is- have emailed but still waiting and its on offer so would like to buy quick. Anyone used cast iron on induction any problems? TIA

I haven't but as a different idea, Scoville cookwear is amazing and can be used on induction hobs. I have never come across anything so non-stick before. I burnt a sausage casserole the other week, when I say burnt, about an inch of food was black (no idea how I got distracted) in my old pans it would've been thrown away in this, it just peeled off with no hassle at all. Haven't had to use oil since getting them either. I've never raved about cookware before but this has blown me away

I have induction and did try out a cast iron pan - had to give it away. It was heavy and I was always concerned that I didn't have the strength to control the lifting and smash it down on my hob. I have to agree with Dilligaf on the choice of pans as I've got 5 of the Scoville brand and they are amazing. I won't lie, I've always been a bit of a Tefal snob but these pans are premium. I've been using them for a couple of years now and they are still totally non-stick which is a bit of a surprise.
