Changes to Tiers in the UK Just before New Years

In the News

Do you guys feel that the Government should have put the different regions into the new higher tiers just before New Years?

No time is a good time. Why is new year significant? Is it worth risking the nation's health for a night of 'fun'?

Please just listen to what doctors are saying and stay home no gatherings.

It really is not hard you could either end up getting COVID and die or drink alcohol and die just chill put tv on and pretend it’s a normal evening chilling

I sincerely hope that no one was thinking of having a wild celebration this year ? Or any get together ? So what does it matter what date the new tiers start ??

Golfforall of course people are planning a get together, everyone is really starting to cheese me off I have reported gatherings and no show off police. My daughters snap chat stories are shocking at the amount of parties going on.

When they plan their new year get together they might has well call it someone’s wake buys who they decide

Ann1984 Sadly the terminally stupid will always think they know best , that they will never catch it - then blame the government when they , their family and friends are hospitalised - or worse !

Leeann sounds like a good night in to me (with a glass of wine though!). I think lots of people will be relieved not to have to go to NYEve parties.

Tiers before bedtime , I'm one those anti hoover people , we didn't need foreign concoctions , when I was a lad , 2 liver pills and some Andrews liver salts , ok you defecated all over the place but eventually you were well !!

Doesn't bother me one jot. I loath NYE, always have. This year I have a perfectly valid reason not to celebrate.

I don't think anyone will be surprised at the new restrictions. I think the majority of people were fully aware they were coming in the NY.

I just think it's just the start of things to come. And it's going to get a lot worse . I cant see 2021 being any different to 2020. Wear i live in the highlands of Scotland I've gone from tier 1 to tier 4.🎆

I am also in Scotland, the north east and are also in tier 4. I agree with you nicolajaynehend i can’t see things getting better anytime soon until everyone is vaccinated. We will probably be in lockdown until Easter

Good way to get past the censor bots Ann. Totally agree with your sentiment. I have told my boss I won't be working for the forseeable. Doing him a favour really as hardly any work so those who want it can do my share!

Am immersed in a rather difficult Outlander jigsaw, one of my Xmas gifts from granddaughter, we are both fans.

I am in Scotland so we were all put in tier 4 from boxing day knowing people would mix in xmas day. No matter if the tiers changed or not people shouldn’t be out partying for new year this year
