What is the Cheapest Item at JohnLewis.com to Top-up With?

Other

Hi, I want to know what are the cheapest items at johnlewis.com, the department store.

The John Lewis Click & Collect service costs £2, but is FREE for orders of £30 or more (currently collecting from Waitrose branches only, as the John Lewis shops are temporarily closed)'

Has anyone found the cheapest item on johnlewis.com with which to top-up an order to meet the £30 threshold?

It's annoying when your order is £29.99! Why pay £2 extra if you don't need to?!😊

Please share your ideas for the cheapest useful items you've found. Here's my cheapest so far:

80p - Philips 3.5W GU10 LED Spotlight Bulb

https://www.johnlewis.com/philips-3-5w-gu10-led-spotlight-bulb/p2721475

Can you find cheaper than 80p? Ideally something actually useful to most people that won't just go in the bin.

Thanks

Johnny😊

What do you think of this?

Not sure if I have missed the point of your topic Johnny but I would have thought an item of food that can go in the store cupboard or freezer? A bottle of cordial, a loaf of bread, eggs, butter etc?

Thanks Lynibis - I mean the cheapest items at John Lewis (the department store) not Waitrose (the supermarket).

Right now at John Lewis Click & Collect is Free on orders over £30, otherwise £2.

You then Click & Collect what you bought from John Lewis at Waitrose shops.

At the moment Click & Collect in John Lewis & Partners shops is temporarily unavailable, because they are closed.

Here's an example of what I was trying to do:

I wanted the Lego Harry Potter Knight Bus for £29.99 (RRP £34.99) but not to pay the extra £2 Click & Collect Charge, total £31.99.

By topping up my order £29.99 with this 80p lightbulb to just over £30 I was able to avoid it, and pay only £30.79

Yes, thanks. There's several different gift tags at 50p:

Alternative: do your next weekly shop in Sainsbury's or at least near an Argos to prevent unnecessary travel and save yourself 49p: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8934958

Yes, that works for the Lego Knight Bus. But I hate going to my local Sainsbury's at the moment. I don't feel safe in there, too many people, too close. Especially at the checkout where you can't leave the store without passing within two metres of other people because of the store layout.

Johnny Fair enough. I just made sure I was facing away from people when they passed me in the supermarket last week, even when they kept their distance. You are putting yourself at risk by going out more than needed though as well and adding an extra vehicle to the roads, assuming you drive there. If you can do it in one trip, the emergency services will thank you and you may feel better about it. Maybe there's a John Lewis next to wherever you do your shopping or an Argos.

I don't think facing away will make much difference if the COVID-19 droplets are in the air you are breathing in.

There's an Argos in my local Sainsbury's.

John Lewis shops are closed, so C&C for JL orders is only from Waitrose at present.

Johnny If they're in the air everywhere, they'll be in Waitrose too. 😉

Anyway, you could do a weekly shop in Waitrose if you feel safer in there. It's not that expensive. Have fun!
