Check Answers to Competition Questions before submitting

I am guilty of being lazy and just accepting the answers people post with their comps. I am sure they do this in good faith but I have found 2 in the last 24 hours with the wrong answer. It is worth doing a quick check unless blatantly obvious.
Yep! Guilty as charged. I do give the answers and, on one of the early comps I shared, I gave the wrong answer that was picked up within two minutes of posting. You've made me doubt myself though - as a serious comper would you prefer them to be left clear or the words 'suggested answer' on the post?
angemski hi. This is a hard one because this was directed at one person only who until recently never put answers at all. Both the wrong 'uns I mentioned were so obviously wrong I couldn't understand how they even chose them from the multiple choice. It just seemed a bit weird to me.
I always Google the answer when posting or entering. If I cannot find it I don't put anything unless I feel really confident because it is so obvious. Otherwise I say please check yourself.
Prior to this I had always assumed if someone put an answer they were 100% positive about it. I will now check all unless blatantly obvious.
Having said all this genuine mistakes will sometimes happen and I certainly don't blame anyone for an honest error.
I like to always Google the answer when posting or entering. I feel that it's important for people too know the correct answer. When I am entering myself I like to check it as well. I feel that if someone posted the wrong answer and it was not by mistake or because they were guessing the answer; that it is not nice and not right at all. They don't want people to win but still the person gets points for their post!
Sometimes you have to hunt on other websites to find the answer. If I'm not 100% sure I have the correct answer I always add the caveat 'My answer' just to let people know I could be wrong.
