Child Dragged under Peloton Treadmill but Firm Refuses to Recall Machines

In the News

Whilst this is a disturbing story, why you leave it on when you have finished exercising and also who continues filming rather than help the baby ?

Ditto, I would be an automatic reaction to protect your child.

Imnotcheap I think it’s a security camera recording isn’t it ? If they stood there recording then they need shooting.

First of all, a child should never use a treadmill. That said, why were the parents recording and making fun of the accident that could happen? Maybe they were waiting for a funny video to try to sell it to the Daily Mail for £200?

I'd never leave a child next to a treadmill, I've seen enough youtube videos where adults are thrown off with a minor injury. It makes no sense that a baby would be left by such a machine. Why are Peloton at all at fault for this, the same issue would happen with any treadmill surely. This is a story about morons having children again.

I think you’ll find that the recording is from a ‘Nanny Cam’ installed in that room. I don’t think anyone was recording. So who in the right mind leaves children playing on or near treadmill that is plugged in? Why should Peloton recall the products? It has not malfunctioned and caused a danger, the incident was due to parents be careless?

Exactly, why would you film this rather than help the child? Clearly the parents are at fault too.... 🤯

Whether this was filmed by a nanny cam that was in the room, there are still a number of issues! Why was the treadmill running when not being used? Why was the child by themselves in the room where there is dangerous equipment? Where are the parents or another caregiver?

Whilst it is awful that the child has been pulled under the machine, it has happened because the child was left unsupervised next to a treadmill.

That’s not particularly nice thing to happen. Has nothing to do with the machines though. Bad supervision. So why would the company need to recall them ?

That’s human stupidity.

Glad the kids ok

I'm not surprised by anything nowadays, it's another story of idiots not being accountable for themselves but trying to shift blame.

Liek the fabulousa explosions, not the company at fault it's the idiots that use the product.

It took them a while, but Peloton are recalling 125,000 Tread and Tread+ machines in America and more in the UK 'because display consoles could fall off' - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-56993894
