Child Models
Ask a Question
Child Models. Please do not judge me, I'm just thinking about the subject...
How old do you feel it's ok for a child to be able to handle modelling?
Do you think it's ok to put a child in to the job or could it be detrimental?
NO nastiness please, it's just me thinking out loud.
Don't put your daughter on the stage Mrs Worthington lolz - I dunno, you hear about some kid actors who just can't hack it and get into drugs don't you? The choice is yours, just don't be judged by others.
I think that's up to you as a parent if you think it is ok, but keep an eye what's going on. An old work colleague of mine had a 16 yr old daughter. The daughter won some sort of photoshoot. Her mum went in with her and all was fine, so she left thinking it was ok. Once she had gone the photographer had her daughter in a bikini. Guess which photos ended up being used in media? Yeap, the bikini ones.
That was wrong the photographer shouldve mentioned it to the parent about the bikini photos before parent left. That was a wrong move, i personally wouldnt leave a 16 year old on their own for a photoshoot in case something like this were to happen.
chelseaturpin Exactly! I don't think the mum was too bothered to be honest. She was really onboard with the idea of her kid being a model. She showed us all the photos and whilst they were really nice when it got to the bikini shots we were all like woah, that went too far. Her daughter was put through to the next round of this teen model contest and she didn't win.
Each to their own. If it is something your child enjoys and can earn their own money thats set aside for when their older go for it. But their childhood and school deffo comes first. I personally wouldnt let my child do it full time until theyve finished their education.
I've been approached several times for my son when he was younger. I decided to wait until he was a bit older for the same worries you're having. Actually now i wish i had done it.
Thought about it as my son is quite the looker. But I’d not put him through it. He can’t sit still. He belongs in parks, playing football and climbing trees... I take enough pics of him so he’s famous enough on my social media lol
