Child Trust Funds .Was Your Child Born between 01/09/2002 and 2/01/2011

Money Saving

The National Audit Office has been looking into the Child Trust Funds which were set up for children born between 1 September 2002 and 2 January 2011.

🏛 The funds were set up so young people could access them once they reached 18 years old. The Government paid more than £2bn into the funds for over 6 million children. Many young people cashed out their fund once they reached 18 years old as expected. Some withdrew but continued to invest further but some trust funds have gone completely unclaimed.

🤑 If you know a young person born between 1 September 2002 and 2 January 2011 who has not yet claimed their Child Trust Fund, encourage them to do so - better in their hands and put to good use, than idling unclaimed in the bank!

For anyone unsure, you can ask HMRC for confirmation or use the tool below to find out where your CTF might be:

Your title says 'Was Your Child Born between 01/09/2022 and 2/01/2011'

But your post states 'between 1 September 2002 and 2 January 2011'

Might be worth editing it to stop confusing - I've requested a title change.

Thanks for sharing this information 😊

Bit confused can people now see 2002 or it still 2022? I ask as on the chat section it has 2002 but on here it's still 2022? Sorry for asking.
