Childrens Names
Ask a Question
Curious about you all- How did you decided what to call your child/children? For those without children currently do you have a list?
My eldest son was named after his dad, my younger son just looked like a 'Daniel' but my poor daughter. As I found out she was a girl whilst pregnant I had chosen the name Amelia Jane. She spent a week being called that (even had cards with that name) before I decided it really didn't suit her and changed it completely
My eldest daughter is called Eva. We had a boys name picked out from pretty much as soon as i was pregnant, but we couldn't agree on a girls name. In the end decided ti wait for the scan to tell us boy or girl as if a boy we didnt need to choose one. While in the waiting room i was flicking through a magazine and there was an interview with eva longoria, i just said oh evas a nice name, her dad agreed and that was that
If we had had a girl, we had chosen a name from Lord of the rings as it was pretty and it was unusual.
Our son is named after family tradition. The dads middle name becomes the sons first name. My husband has his dads middle name as his first name and our son has his dads. Good thing I liked his middle name.

My younger son was called after a character in a book and would have suited a boy or girl. If you are familiar with Little Women by Louisa May Alcott you will know the name as it is the boy next door.

Joshua is the name I've loved for a boy ever since I was 13 and I was reading Kerrang magazine about what become one of my all time fave rock bands Type O negative. Joshua is the keyboard players name and I had never heard it before and I have loved it ever since. I've since found it means yahweh is salvation and is a variation on the spelling of Jesus (Yeshua or Yehoshua).
My first was named after my mums grandad-joe.
