China Isn't a Developed Country?

Other

tl;dr

China has been the largest contributor to world growth since the global financial crisis of 2008. Yet China remains a developing country (its per capita income is still a fraction of that in advanced countries) and its market reforms are incomplete.

One of the reasons why shipping from China to the rest of the world is so ridiculously cheap is because China is considered a 'developing country' but in many ways it's very much a developed country. I'd dare say it's a much better country than others which are part of 'developed' but stats are what counts, I guess.

Typically, developed countries are in the Western (US, UK, AU, ES, PT, DE, CA, IT, AN, NL, NZ, RU, etc) and Asian (JP, SK, TK, etc) part.

While Brazil is a country part of the Western world, it's a country underdeveloped because those in charge never get things fixed and improved for the better of the population.

But say y'all, should this really matter when we can order items for so cheap? Wouldn't really say so.

Tbh there’s still so many parts of China that’s not developed. Most people think of only Shanghai and Beijing when they think of China, so the rest of the country (which is massive) doesn’t get much thought. It wasn’t that long ago when the majority of the population was illiterate, hence the simplified version of Chinese

Asian languages are hard to learn so not surprised they decided to make simplified versions.

Japan has the traditional Kanji and I think, Romanji (Japanese in Roman letters). I'd love to learn Japanese but writing it is completely different than in the West.

I know a few words in Japanese thanks to anime but that's about it.

The English language doesn't have stuff like accents on words whereas other Western idioms do, or giving genders to everything (a table in Portuguese is female).

I kinda miss the female doctor term "Doctress" that was used in the old days, now it's just "Doctor".

Rockman think that may be an lgbt issue as you can’t call female actors ‘actressses‘ anymore either

Actually the bulk of the illiteracy issue in China can be traced back to chairman mao and his communist regime, but that’s an issue Best left in the past

The 'Doctor' thing came before the LGBTQA+ (they just keep on adding letters to it) complainy organization, I suppose they wanted to have made it 'gender-neutral'. Watresses as a term still exist and so does Actresses, but 'Actor' for female tends to be used more often.

Now with the 52 or 1,000,000 genders it's hard to tell where this is going.

Fair enough.

Rockman yeh tbh I’d never heard of the term doctress before, and had still existed I’m sure someone would have started some kind of campaign to eradicate the usage of it, lol

you can’t use the term ‘actress’ on set these days, as it’s now plain offensive, especially since the recent issues being highlighted in the media
