Christmas Cards
Ask a Question
do you all still send christmas cards? I stopped a few years ago as cant justify the expense instead I would put it towards the persons present and some bits for the food bank. What about everyone?
Christmas cards are the one thing I loath about Christmas, There just clutter! Everytime someone opens a door at least one falls down, Argh! We only send one to my boyfriends grandparents now as she gets upset if we dont. I tell everyone not to send us one either, any we do receive go straight in a draw.
Yes completely agree I send one to my little niece and 1 to my best friend who loves too far away to visit and I ask that no one sends me any- just feels wasteful
I hate them my in law gets up set if not got a card she even off that she not had many in post this year I told her people are going green to me just dust collectors they in a pile at moment next weekend I will stick them on door and back off on 27th
CaroleBallard guess the concept of each to their own hasnt reached you yet. Please dont be rude when people have been generous enough of spirit to join in- which is more about Christmas than displaying squares of cardboard anyways.......
Enjoy your cards.
No I stopped giving them out perhaps a decade ago, as I felt they were a waste, and only good for the moment you get them, so not worth it at all.
We are on the same page- no pun intended, Honestly i just feel guilty that people have spent the money and from an environmental view
seems to be a dying trend, we receive a few from neighbours and return a card to them, closer friends or family dont bother unless its a card with a voucher etc
I only post Christmas cards to family and close friends. For anyone else I'll try to give them in person or just not bother.
Iv never done Christmas cards. But it’s because I’m to lazy to write them. I give gifts though.
I will be sending one to my sons great granny from our son, my parents get one and a few friends that send us one each year. Apart from that I don't bother. I will keep the ones from my sons grandparents but the rest get recycled.
I give to family but no one else anymore. I've stopped it. I would spend ages writing a personal message in each one just to get nothing back from most people. Gave my leftover cards to mum this year for her to use.
I must admit i loathe writing cards out as I spend such a long time writing them to relatives whom i never really see, but always write a chatter letter to pop in with them. My partner usually does the ones for our neighbours.
I am finding that a lot more people have now stopped and say that they are going to donate to charity instead.
