What are Must-Haves for Christmas Dinner?

Ask a Question

What does everyone have to have on a Christmas dinner without fail and what’s one things you wouldn’t mind not having on there.

For me I have to have Yorkshire puddings or pigs in blankets 100%.

I’d happily miss out on roasties for them

I have to have cranberry sauce but I can do without yorkies, they are certainly not traditional with Xmas dinner and who in their right mind would have them instead of roasties 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Lynibis I have to have Yorkies in every single dinner. Best part of the dinner for me 🤤

xKJG93 ha ha well they say one man's meat is another man's poison. I'd sooner 'spend' my carbs on something tasty as I find yorkies tasteless and just a filler.😁

Jerseydrew I had an ex with four kids and they were brought up with bread sauce with every roast dinner, especially Xmas. We were all at a well known carvery once and the teen girl slavered her meal with bread sauce only to start eating and realise it was horseradish sauce!

I don’t generally eat a Christmas dinner as I’m not a fan but I serve up a dinner for everyone else. I am like you though and love pigs in blankets. This year we are not having a Christmas dinner as I will flying back from Barbados and will probably be sleeping most of Christmas Day.

I won't have cranberry sauce as don't like it, but must have parsnips, cauli and yorkies.

I love roasted parsnips but can’t stand sprouts. As long as meat, potatoes and veg with gravy everything else is choices and extras.

Bread sauce - there was nearly a riot a few years back when it was forgotten.

I don't care for cranberry sauce, but MrsChimp has to have it. I have to have pigs in blankets, but MrsChimp isn't fussed.

After reading a few comments here, can anyone tell me when yorkies with Xmas dinner became a thing? 🤔

I have to have pigs in blankets. They have to be there. We never bother with sprouts as none of us like them. Never have Yorkshire puddings, although I know some people do.
