I don’t bother doing these same with the expensive calendar but what you got will do.

A throw, novelty Santa cup or plate (I get the segmented plate) colouring book and pencils / stickers / activity book. Nice bubble bath in their favourite character or bath bomb with toy inside, Christmas rubber duck, malteser reindeer, a game (age appropriate) this year we are getting sneezy panda…chocolate coins, popcorn to watch Christmas film with, slipper socks Christmas themed, a good one is decorate your own gingerbread men kit - just some of my previous Ideas. Hope it helps!

These were the sort of things I would put in a Christmas stocking. Do you have those as well?

emmabeckz good grief, it must cost you a fortune 😊 Christmas Eve boxes weren’t a thing when mine were small. They got new pjs, that was it.

gerrykelly25 It does but I like to make a fuss I have 4 boys and the older 2 (23 & 24) have moved out so I love to have them all together as I didn't this when I was little - just a soft mum!

Imnotcheap I’d never heard of these boxes until I had my daughter and her auntie made her one. She’s doing it again this year so I don’t have to, but I don’t want my daughter to expect to get one every year! A stocking and main presents is more than enough I think.

Ann1984 if I got my 3 an expensive calander and a Christmas eve box there would be nothing left for Christmas its getting ridiculous encouraging people to spend more money than they can afford. I was talking to a friend the other day that's planning to get a loan out to buy kids presents

Imnotcheap aw that’s sad because she be forever in debt. I know of people using a credit union whice takes child benefits as a loan. No need to stress when used is just has good

I don't do one either. He gets enough on Christmas day with presents from us, both sets of grandparents, great Granny, aunties and uncles, friends, without getting stuff on Christmas eve too!

He gets a small stocking and main presents. I don't see the point in going into debt for one day. He doesn't get an expensive advent calendar either, he gets a chocolate one.

As someone else has said, these were not a thing when mine were kids and I am not sure I would buy into it tbh. Big business make a mint from 'inventing' more and more things to spend our money on in order to make them rich.

I guess when they are older and you don't want to deprive them of things their friends have but I doubt toddlers would even be bothered if they got one or not.

Mine got new pj's on Christmas eve and Santa filled the sock/stocking they hung up with colouring book, crayons, orange or apple, choc coins, small toy, toothbrush and toothpaste. Their main Santa present was in the living room and family presents under the tree. TOP TIP for anyone with babies/young children BUY TWO identical stockings makes 'santa' stuffing much easier as all you have to do is swop them over and not get caught stuffing.

I heard about Christmas Eve boxes for the first time today, it is not something I have ever done for my kids but sounds different.
