There's the endless debate of whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie or not but this weekend we got into a discussion as to whether Gremlins was an Xmas movie too. The argument for is simply because it's set in the run up to Christmas. Does anyone else have a favourite Christmas movie that others might not see that way?
I love the film "Planes, Trains & Automobiles"
It is often described as a Christmas Movie, when in fact it's set at Thanksgiving.
the Message of the film does lend itself to either occasions though, in that the characters are trying to get home for "the holidays"

We like Christmas with the Kranks, its an annual favourite. I think it's because they're trying to avoid Christmas, but find out too many people care too much to let it happen!
National lampoon christmas vacation is our go to film every year. I also love Santa Clause: The movie. Also now not Christmas without watching Harry Potter, Scrooge & Polar Express at some points. I love a cheesy christmas film.
