Christmas Present for Yourself
Ask a Question
Apart from practical things, donating to charity and treating the family etc, if someone gave you £500 to fritter away as you wanted, on yourself, what would you buy? Shoes, make up, technology?
Oh my friend got one in the summer which would project movies from her phone or tablet onto a big screen in her garden ... open air movies, it was fab!
I would be putting it away in my saving account that I cant withdraw from (only closure) and keep building it up for a house
Buying for myself, hm, I don't really do that except for food, snacks and a few old PC games I played as a child.
However, I have been buying stuff to resell, thing is, 2020 hasn't been a good year so I'll just have to delay it.
Not a good time for small business owners or mid, they tell you to close and you must obey.
PhilipMarc Yes, but there is a reason behind it.
My wife has a small business and the 2nd lockdown in Wales has absolutely killed it. And as it hasn't been running for over a year, we don't get any help from the government.
We're right in the poo at the moment, but if it stops people from dying from Covid-19, we don't feel so bad.
TheChimp this is so sad for you... and you still think of others... bless you, not many lovely people these days, it’s weird that the very first lockdown, everyone LOVED and HELPED each other..... and now it looks like people are arguing, fighting, hating each other now.... didn’t last long did it! ***
It’s been a terrible year .... I hope your business picks up. Xxxxxx
"the very first lockdown, everyone LOVED"
That's a bit like Stockholm Syndrome. For people who're always at home didn't feel any different, but for others it was house arrest. MandeeMayson
TheChimp It's a shame her business has suffered when you both put a lot of thought and effort into it. Chin up and smile, you have each other
I would put it away to hopefully put towards an holiday in 2021 or something fun like theatre, concert tickets when we are allowed to live our lives again
I wouldn’t be spending it yet, would wait until it was safe to enjoy a holiday and I would be away
It would have to be a xbox series x or maybe a xbox series s , with any money left over i would just keep it away in my bank account
I think I would splash out on having my hair straightened (yuko) as it costs about £250+.
I would spend the rest on a new outfit.
Well if I had to spend on myself would consider having a small tattoo something that resembles most of my family only get one but has to do all that I'm in me 50s now so just shows who comes 1st in family line up
I would get a new pair of winter boots, some new jeggings and some cozy pjs. I don't need anything else. I never buy things for myself. I would put the rest towards our savings for moving house.
The Dyson airwrap set. I really want it but so far have not been able to bring myself to spend so much on a hair set.
I dont think I could spend it all on myself, I am always thinking about kids first . But definitely would buy new bed for myself .
It will go towards the next trip I make out of here. I will need more than that but it will cover the bulk of it
I would buy myself a piece of jewellery! Maybe some diamond earrings. They could become family heirlooms
I would spend a good chunk of the cash on tasty food and drink. Things like Paul A. Young chocolates, Manuka honey, Pastel de Nata, etc
I would have to resist spending it on my 2 grandkids tbh.... but purely to spend on myself.... it would buy me a full set of Holbeinn Pencil Crayons and a set of FC Polychrome Pencil Crayons.... I spend a lot if time doing adult colouring.... I started it to help me relax and to be less stressed and it absolutely works.... Now it is also my hobby and those 2 sets are the creame de la creame of Pencil Crayons... xx
