Christmas... Yes You Read That Correct
Other
I've been buying for Xmas for about 4/5 months now.
Not massive amount just to get a head start ☺
Anyone else? I like to grab a good deal so I always Stert early lol
We have a pre christmas clean
so still stressful i end up doing things like clean oven then panic not enough time HollyDolly22
Imnotcheap i get the whole house to join in when we do that! i do it purely because i wont want to clean on the day lol
I tend to start buying presents early and then I stop for a few months then start buying again x
Ive got a couple of things but dont start properly till after last birthday in October. I always buy paper and tags when they go cheap
i used to do that but i now have 5 kids which scatter through our the year. so cant do it no more lol.
I have started. So far I got my brother an expensive trainers on sale in July. I am already thinking what else for the rest of my family members.
Ahhh that's great! Yeah I'm always keep an eye on the pricey stuff to see if it goes down
Ive bought quite a lot of mine during lockdown having found some fabulous bargains on here. Got a lot of toys for my grandkids and beauty products, perfumes and so much more. Wrapping them and delivering them early well that will be a first but you never know, stranger things have happened and to be honest it has been a very strange year for everybody
Yes. That's what I love. If I start early I get all the bargains and good deals. I find prices hike closer to Xmas.
HollyDolly22 i like to buy when things are on offer and they get more gifts for the money I am spending on them. especially the grandkids stockings
heatherduthie yes! we do stockings and sacks plus mains so the bargains come in handy
Yes I started my xmas shopping by doing it online at the start of lockdown incase a lot of shops hadnt opened in time for me to get my presents.
thats exactly why i started. i heard that we potentially could be heading for another lock down so i want to try get as much done as possible now
HollyDolly22 someone I know literally didnt listen to government guidlines during lockdown and coz of people like her i believe there will be a second lockdown.
chelseaturpin yes i know a few to be honest and it shocks me! i see a whole family of 9 people (all adults) shopping with no face mask, when they were ask every single one of them said they were exempt. i cant see it to be honest
HollyDolly22 dont undestand why a whole family of 9 have to do the shopping. I personally would rather shop alone and leave family at home. Surely 1 adult is capable of doing the shopping, my friend constantly went to house parties and BBQ's during lockdown she said it was fine to go as it was her friend throwing them. I was told I couldve phone 111 and told them of an illegal party but doubt police wouldve done anything apart from give a few fines.
I shop all year. Put some away for birthday and some for Xmas. I have birthdays every month even December. So have to be organised or I'd be so stressed. Keep the kids main thing for slightly nearer. Unless they know exactly what they want early on. And will definitely not change mind. A lot of prices go up for Xmas. So get a better deal earlier on.
I try to buy stuff in sales after Xmas to get a head start but I never find any thing worth a buy
HollyDolly22 sales can be a tricky one. It depends where you shop. I like b&m and Primark for little things. Sometimes charity shops can have some things brand new that make great gifts. It is definitely best to shop all year round put a budget away each month that you could spend on gifts if you see anything. That way you don't over spend each month eitherX
tracisinclair01 i do actually look in charity shops. i know sometimes ive come across soe great little bits
HollyDolly22 got to save the pennies when you have kids and things to buy for. I got 4 kids. and partner has a widespread family. So it good to penny pinch. X
tracisinclair01 im the same. i have a large family and 5 kids of my own so definitely have to bargain hunt. i enjoy doing it though come xmas and showing my husband hes always amazed how well i done on a budget
HollyDolly22 yeah. I'm definitely the bargain hunter in the family. Hubby would just spend on first thing in he sees. I love getting a bargain.
tracisinclair01 my husband is the same and he always shops the day before! but its so expensive ! i just cant do that lol
I shop all year to spread the cost, and to make sure that I actually get it all done. This way I usually end up with a few extra bits and pieces for my family too since I can get things at a lower price earlier in the year.
yes! i notice a few bits that goon sale closer to xmas is actually the same price of sometimes more expensive. so i tend to grab as i see
HollyDolly22 I agree, you have to grab it when you see it or the price is higher often higher later on, even in the sale. Have to get it when it's at the right price!
cocolgooh yes most definitely! i noticed argos used to hike prices during the sale! i was shocked when i noticed
HollyDolly22 It’s crazy when brands do that. Seems like something they shouldn’t be allowed to do, really. But I’m sure they’ll always find a way to do it regardless.
cocolgooh oh most definitely. i do think it shouldn't be allowed but i reckon they would only hike the original price to begin with sadly :/
HollyDolly22 Yes I wouldn’t be surprised if they did that. then We wouldn’t ever get the Bargains I guess.
When I see a good sale I normally get a few things. Saves paying full price right at the end! I never find it too early, gets really expensive
Lol it’s a touch early, but I have started, especially when I see thing that I know people would like that are heavily reduced
i know some people dont start till alot later. i just have a big family so saves us a bunch
I get a lot of theatre tickets for shows when they are first advertised. You can get early bird or price promise seats for £13 that are normally £70!
I also buy sale items and have just ordered my Christmas cards on an early bird deal.
I find it much less stressful if I spread my shopping throughout the year. I save a lot of money that way too.
HollyDolly22 they are always popular presents! Hopefully the theatres will be able to open again soon.
gerrykelly25 yea i think im going to keep an eye out and if so i think il be doing that
Yes, I've got my mum's christmas presents done. Half of the cat's. A couple of bars of chocolate so far for dad. I bought Grandma's presents in January but sadly she is passed away in May, so I will keep and use her presents. I've also bought mum's birthday presents for november.
HollyDolly22 I start early because of money. It would be dreadful if I left it to November. Best to spend it out from August onwards. I do use the January sales as well. This way I find it doesn't impact me.
ShellyAnn yes spread the cost and doesnt seem so harsh to the pocket in the long run
Sure. I buy all year for Christmas etc. Iv bought quite a number of things recently in sales. Most recently I got a few perfumes in the boots clearance as gifts. I tend to leave presents for my young nieces & nephews till later on tho as I find what they ask for can change quite frequently in the lead up to Christmas.
i love finding perfumes on sale. i have older sisters so always comes in handy yea i buy for my kids early but only because i know what they still tend to enjoy all year round my nieces and nephews always stump me lol
I have tried to start early but haven’t been able to find anything! I’m useless at buying presents and normally just last minute panic buy!
lol i only tend to buy as i see. i have shopped online more so now then what i think i have actually ever done in my life though lol
