How Do I Clean My Windows without Them Being Left Streaky Afterwards?
Ask a Question
When I clean my Windows they always look terrible with streaks! I always regret cleaning them! Anyone got any tips
Get a window vac such as www.amazon.co.uk/K%C3%A4rcher-16332200-Window-Yellow-Black/dp/B082XV82P9/ref=sr_1_6?crid=24F3J8PTWWKVZ&keywords=window%20vac&qid=1678802504&sprefix=window%20%2Caps%2C110&sr=8-6 (not a deal recommendation just an illustration) . Most important use the Karcher cleaning solution or similar then you just need to go round the edge of the pane with a dampened microfibre cloth .
A lot of people suggest cleaning your windows as usual and then using a coffee filter to remove any streaks. We used to do this in the restaurant I worked in!
It depends on how you are actually washing them, I always use a good quality squeegee and doofer and polish them with a window scrim.
I have the same problem so thanks I will check out all the advice here when weather better. I tend to rearrange the muck rather than clean
Warm water, drop of vinegar, drop of washing up liquid. Wash them with clean cloth and then buff with newspaper. Always come up shining
Half water half vinegar is a great way to clean windows if you want to avoid buying window cleaner.
I use window cleaner and a clean cloth. If possible have a specific cloth that is only used to clean the windows. Circular motions work well. I always use window cleaner, a clean cloth and circular motions and never have streaks.
Although vinegar has been suggested, it isn't always advisable... for several reasons (see article linked to). Although not mentioned in article newspaper to dry off and polish windows leaves windows streak free. www.ballaratcleaningspecialists.com.au/is-vinegar-good-for-cleaning-windows/
With my french doors firsty I use a sponge soaked in warm soapy water then go in with a squeegee. After that I'll spray Windolene or Homebase 'Screen Cleaner' directly on the windows and go over with kitchen roll. Both are brilliant. No smears or streaks.
