Companies That Send Things from China because of the Coronavirus?

Is anyone being put off by buying from companies that send things from China because of the Coronavirus?

China makes practically everything in the world, so even if you buy something (plastic, electronic, cards, technology, etc) then it was probably made in China.

The EU has been trying to copy the "Made in China" as "Made in EU". I just find this so cringy. God forbid they would be original and creative.

Even the anthem of the EU isn't original. And the flag they use wasn't theirs, but now they can keep it.

Rockman I don't quite understand why you have started up a new post about exactly this subject when you have commented here? And yet, posted exactly the same in a new post?

I already ordered something a while back before coronavirus. First time ever that I don't want my order to arrive. Don't know what I'll do with it When it comes

I would suggest, that if you got some antiseptic wipes and just made sure you wiped it all, you would be ok? but do the envelope too. Just in case, ***

I've started looking at where things are coming from certainly, especially fish.

I have stopped buying from Wish anyhow, but that's because its rubbish.

However, I heard that people are being suspicious of Chinese people in the UK and that is wrong - they are in the same boat as we are.

Wish is a scam. For that reason you shouldn't buy from there.

"I heard that people are being suspicious of Chinese people in the UK and that is wrong"

It's not wrong, it's normal because the virus originated in China. Better safe than sorry.

Rockman I almost bought some quitar strings from Wish a few days ago - about a quarter of the UK price, then fortunately found out they were counterfeits. I'd never heard of Wish before and wish to never hear of them again.

Rockman Funniest I heard someone say was "I hate the Chinese they put GINGER in the curry... (slight pause) the kids loved that cat!"

No. I ordered some stuff from AliExpress.

The virus could make its way through parcels, but it's unlikely to.

Ali Express? The place that sends things from China? So you are buying surgical masks, that may or may not have come from China? Is that right? Or are they coming from elsewhere?

Masks? If you want to cover your face then it's not just your mouth and nose. You would also need to cover your eyes and ears, too.

I wouldn't be surprised if we'd see folks wearing the old doctor's mask. 😆

And yes, AliExpress is basically the Chinese eBay. I get that people are worried about Chinese made products, but they make almost everything in the world. DebbieReed2020

There actually is! 🤣

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Womdee-Plague-Leather-Halloween-Costume/dp/B07HVVV79P/ £11.99 with discount.

The stupid morons in Portugal are allowing everyone that arrives from China to go unchecked so anyone going on vacation or whatever has a reason to be concerned. I just can't believe it, Australia and U.S. are being protective while others are being absolutely careless and permitting the virus to possibly spread with as many people as possible.

Folks said the world was overpopulated? Coronavirus is their answer, then. ShellyAnn

To be honest, I've been wanting to buy a Plague Doctor's Mask and that one for £11.99 delivered (Prime) seems quite a nice deal.

It's active till February 21st, anyway.

That definitely beats wearing a simple mask like the Chinese do even though it only gives them a false sense of protection (e.g. they don't cover their eyes). DebbieReed2020

Rockman When I was part of the truth community online, we would hear talk all the time of depopulation and how they were going to do it. Is this it? wow, it's only 11.99! 😁Inside of wearing a water bottle on my head, I might go with this instead.🤣

£11.99 is a tempting price, but I noticed it's sold by a Chinese seller and fulfilled by Amazon.

Not sure what to think of it. If the virus wasn't an issue I'd order right away. ShellyAnn

I'd say use a protective mask for your mouth and nose, and maybe your eyes too. That done, then open the parcel and use a spray disinfectant or bleach wipes.

When I receive my order (should be within 2 or 3 weeks time) I'll be doing this just to be safe.

I was thinking about this the other day I have ordered a few bits from China over the last month and my first order came yesterday do you think customs will spray items the packages coming from China or am I just being silly

That would probably be too much hassle for them, but there's a 50/50 chance.

Either way, I'd suggest this as I said above: "I'd say use a protective mask for your mouth and nose, and maybe your eyes too. That done, then open the parcel and use a spray disinfectant or bleach wipes."

Perhaps covering your ears would be a good idea because it's a way for the virus to get in/out.

Edit: Gloves also. Think that's all.

This pack of masks were priced at £8ish, but now they're sold out. I wonder why.

Presumably, the virus can live on the surface for days so you'd be better off being careful when opening that and cleaning it.

I'm just not going to take any chances as I don't want to fall victim to it.

There's a pack of masks suitable for wearing when there are viruses around @ https://www.toolstation.com/jsp-martcare-ffp3-valved-moulded-face-mask/p71568

Credit to the user at HUKD for sharing this. In about a month's time I have to go to Portugal (wish I didn't) so I'll be buying a set of these masks, the knuckleheads there aren't doing their job correctly and god knows how many have been infected as anyone enters freely from China.

That said, there's also plenty of enormous China stores there so I won't be entering any although for many it has become normal. I ain't taking any chances, but who knows who's become infected already.
