Is There a Company Who You Would Avoid?

Ask a Question

I was reading this morning about a company I used to be with and after the experience with them I said they could offer me free gas and electric and I'd never stay with them or rejoin them in the future .

Have you had dealings with a company who treated you badly ?

Body building warehouse. They supplied my husband with a chemical tasting product and refused to let us send it back for testing or test other batch numbers

After a bad experience with Very I swore that I'd never use them again. It involved a flatpack wardrobe I ordered. After several promised deliveries and days that someone had to wait in they delivered the wrong item. Because a relative took the delivery they didn't realise the mistake. It was then equally awkward to get them to return to collect the item. It also took lots of phone calls, waiting on hold, being passed around departments and uninterested/unhelpful customer service. I cancelled the order and bought from a local store.

Etsy, it isn't a company I would avoid, but it's a company I rarely shop with because of the price of shipping always being so high

Moonstone22 I know what you mean, some are really high. You should use the filter to only show items with free shipping. I do this and also select to only show UK listings

I won't use Endsleigh Insurance again. I also don't want to order online from the outdoor clothing & equipment store, Blacks, after a bad experience, but I'm still happy to shop in their stores.

GAME

It got worse with Mike Ashley as he charges £5 for delivery which is just ridiculous. Besides, I've rarely found any deals at GAME, tbh.

Agree there, I think I've purchased 3 things from Wish, they took 2 months to arrive and were nothing like what I ordered.

Everything 5 pounds. Used them once and never again! I'm still waiting for a refund for an item that they never sent, couldn't get through to customer services no matter how hard it tried, would have cost me more money to send back the items that weren't suitable than they actually cost! Would not recommend them to anyone!

Wren Kitchens. Got a new kitchen installed and worst service ever and still have stuff on a snagging list which will never get sorted.

Yes. I don’t use ebay. Their customer service is pants and I’d avoid them like the plague. There is no deal that could tempt me back. So many alternatives out there

I won't use admiral or policyexpert insurance as they declined my topcashback cashback with no reason. I had a terrible experience with MM&Direct so won't use them. Also my mother had horrible unfair treatment from Tesco Bank so won't use them even though I like normal Tesco shops. I received very poor customer service from Talktalk so won't use them anymore. In the past had very poor customer service from Currys with a Panasonic plasma tv that was faulty and it ended up with Panasonic UK helping me as Currys were so awful. Still use Currys but only for bargains.

I only buy heavily discounted goods from Amazon or ebay, i.e. amazon warehouse or auctions would never consider buying anything from them that I could get for the same price elsewhere.

I try to be responsible when buying goods and services and choose options that are less damaging to the economy and not add to our huge debts and trading deficit so try to support british farmers and manufacturing plus UK based retailers. It's a real irritation of mine when people who export most of their wages on foreign goods and holidays but then complain that there are potholes in the road or their hospital is underfunded or crime is rampant in their area etc because there are so few policemen.

I also avoid high margin premium products, I wouldn't buy a Apple phone for example or have a high end bicycle.

Lastly Bose as many years ago I worked as a hifi salesman and the service engineer in the workshop called me over to show me the appalling construction of a Bose sound system with correctional wires everywhere and it was just pure junk so that put me off the brand for life. He had issues repairing the unit as the unit actually used low quality speakers and it boosted the frequencies electronically of where the speaker was weakest which meant to replace those speakers you had to buy the same poor speakers from Bose at inflated prices and the frequency shifting/boosting design seemed to reduce the lifespan of speakers. If you replaced the units with good quality speaker units the sound was all wrong as suddenly the top end of the speaker was over-stated or the bass was over-stated. Bose seemed to be able to sell junk electronics at premium prices by electronically tweaking the sound output. The end result was only mediocre sound too although the sound system was very stylish, it was no Bang and Olufson though.
