Have You Got Concerts Planned for 2020?
Other
I love going to gigs. I have a couple booked for this year so far: Foals and The National. Well excited for The National especially as it's one of my favourite bands and I've not managed to see them live yet.
How about you?
UPDATE June 2020
I remembered this chat topic i created pre-covid. Shame all our gigs got postponed/cancelled.
Watching the Cure on bbc just now
funny enough, I was thinking of starting a gig thread. Not because I'm going to any, but because I have seen over 100 bands. I used to go multiple times per month. All the bands I like are gone from the 60s,70s and so many of the bands I grew up with have lost band members from the 90s already. A lot of rockers from the 90s are gone. Very sad.
Yes i checked and there wasn't a proper gig thread yet. Hope to hear all about people and gigs
I just went to see Steel Panther last week with my son & his GF, What a night! Was great fun. Just booked tickets for a lesser known band Will & the people, saw them last year when they supported Barns Courtney, so looking forward to that. Also got Joe Satriani booked for May.
Omg I love both of those!! Have an amazing time! I'm seeing Lewis Capaldi and Circa Waves both in March!
I'm going to see the pussycat dolls next month as they reunited! I'm not sure this counts as a gig but I managed to secure tickets for Glastonbury so I'll be seeing lots of different people there
Never been to one ,daughters been to Beyonce and a-ha said they were brilliant and mortems voice perfect, tomorrow she's seeing The script.Brothers seen nkotb and met them said they were really nice and friendly especially Donnie☺
hayley237 If I lived in America and had the money, I would go on one of the NKOTB cruises they do every year. I watch the footage on youtube. Not safe for work or around children. They are very funny, but Joey once he starts drinking he'll say anything. They seem like nice people.
I love live music in the medium of musicals or classical concerts (saw Phantom last week) but have never been a fan of going to see bands either in concerts or local pubs. It is so noisy and if I go to a pub (never these days) it is for a quiz or to chat with friends without having my ears blasted and conversation killed lol. I suppose you could put it down to age but tbh I have never enjoyed clubs, discos, gigs etc. even in my youth.
Fair enough. I don't mind a quiet gig sometime - saw one at Union Chapel in London last year and it was fabulous.
I bought my wife tickets for Westlife for xmas, its in June. Havent got anything else yet as my favourites havent got any tours planned. Last year we went to Jason Derulo, Busted and Westlife.
gaelle0501 they have sung a lot of songs by other artists but also many of their own. Have a look on youtube im sure you will know them once you see
I would, if Johnny Cash was still alive.
But no, not interested in live concerts especially after the painful temporary tinnitus I had (which happened while I was asleep).
I went to a Johnny Cash concert in 1971 - he scowled at me personally.
Most recent was Don Williams, he's also since died. I seem to put the mockers on them all.
davidstockport A friend of mine had John Lydon aka johnny rotten give her the finger at a s*x pistols reunion gig. This pleased her.
ShellyAnn It reminds me of Les Battersby (in Coronation Street) who was a Status Quo fan, being chuffed because they "duffed him up".
Not been to a gig in ages but I do like going to the theatre. Got a few musicals and comedy shows booked for this year which I can't wait to go to
I have one booked now. I was just looking at what was on gig wise at our local venue, inspired by the all the gig stories here, and low and behold if The Wildhearts aren't playing this year! I couldn't believe it. My school best friend and I love The Wildhearts. I was only listening to them 2 nights ago having a good sing-a-long. I've booked tickets and I am ridiculously happy about this.
I am hoping to go see Chiki Liki Tu-a again at the Students night at the university in Presov it was actually quite fun and i was apparently a bit of a sensation (the girlfriend says more like a fanny) whirling and rave dancing in my highland kilt to Slovak rock music lol
But I really want to see this guy Rytmus in Bratislava he is supposed to kick butt but then unfortunately i found out he was a c'rapper so thats that idea gone!
I am currently trying to diversify my musical tastes to include Slovak folklore music and Czech rock!
slovak folklore music and Czech rock. That reminds me, Robert Plant is coming to the Chelt Jazz festival with his new folk band. I've seen him once so I'm not sure if I will bother with his folk band. Now if Jimmy page and John Paul Jones were going to be there....
Iv got quite a few
West life with eldest
Little mix with the youngest
Tom Jones
Snow patrol
Just saw James blunt for 3rd time last week as always fab
Not yet, waiting to see how things will work with restrictions in place. Outdoor concerts may be workable, but it may not be viable for indoor venues if you have to leave gaps/empty seats between people. If there are standing areas people will likely drift towards the stage, so would be difficult to adhere to any social distancing restrictions. I wouldn't want to wear a mask at a concert, so probably wouldn't buy a ticket if it's required.
I really wanted to go an Australian band`s gig, but it seems like Australia will not allow flights till the next year.
