What Do You Consider Spamming

Ask a Question

I was just wondering after reading around the site a bit that this afternoon that posting similar deals is sometimes considered spamming the site.

What do you guys consider spam.

I post quite a lot of trainers deals, somedays they will be from the same brand and same retailer but often different brands, different websites but still trainers. They will always be large reduction and genuine sale products and the cheapest available.

How many is too many?

I’m aware you only get points for 3 deals a day but do you think it’s ok to post more than that?

Posting multiple sale items rather than just linking to the sale itself I think is spammy tbh but that's just me

Oh I see. Would you prefer to just see a few of the best sale items in the post itself for a he sale rather than selecting a few of the best items to post as separate deals then.

If there is a great bargain then yeah otherwise I think a link to the main sale is enough tbh so people can look themselves as sometimes there is multiple sale items posted and they aren't even a good sale price really

Posting different flavours / fragrances of the same item multiple times rather than just adding them into one post.

Would you feel the same about the same brand of trainers but in different styles?

For example I think Adidas Yungs are very different from gazelles. Yet they are both essentially Adidas trainers.

This soooo much. Lemon in one post, strawberry in another... all the same item etc

myusernamehasgo Different styles of trainers are different trainers really and probably would be varying prices. so multiples posts would be justified. However If you posted the same style just in different colours multiple times yes I would consider that Spam

Hey myusernamehasgo 🙂

For what it's worth, I think your posts are on point and don't personally have an issue with how you approach sharing deals on LD 👍

It's always a tricky line to walk - I'd suggest different flavours of crisps don't need their own post each. However, I reckon different trainers are distinct enough that they warrant their own posts.

It's also quite tricky with sale posts. If a retailer is having a massive sale it's great if someone can share that on LD. Similarly, if there are a few stand out cracking deals in that sale it's useful to have those shared as separate deals too. On the other hand, sharing every single item in a sale as a separate post probably isn't a huge help.

My waffling probably hasn't helped. Clear as mud 😃

Thanks Kelsey it has helped thank you,

It seems ok to list the sale itself so members can go see whats available and grab items that are useful for them.

It’s also ok to list a few cracking bargains in deals of there own, but don’t list the same trainer in every colour that’s discounted or list everything single item in the sale. 😀

I do tend to post mostly trainer deals which I feared people may find repetitive but they are from different brands and different stores and what I believe to be genuinely good discounts.
