Conspiracy Theories
In the News
Loads of conspiracy theories around at the moment some are way out there others sound credible.
What's your thoughts do you think eating bats has caused the world economy to crumble.
I wouldn't attempt to guess what caused it, we may never know, but I am convinced there is an awful lot we are not being told.
Lynibis I agree I wouldn't attempt to get either but there a lot of therioes out there
From what I've seen on the Chinese wet markets on youtube I don't think its surprising at all that a virus has made the species jump to humans.
A few years ago I used to buy Tesco everyday value toothpaste which was really great value and did a good job then one day shortly after using it I felt quite sick quite quickly and the only thing I had done that morning was clean my teeth, when I looked at the tube I could see it stated 'Made in China' not the 'Made in UK' of the earlier tubes. No one seems to give a damn about safety in China, they are constantly poisoning their own people in the pursuit of a quick profit I was staggered when a product like toothpaste was being sold over here knowing what little regard China has for safety. I chucked it away and never bought it again but I guess I should have complained.
I saw a Korean expert on viruses with a lot of experience with the original SARs and he was convinced it had come from bats with the virus originating possibly from a pangolin. I don't think it's any surprise this has come from China.
Here's some information about the dangers of Chinese wet markets from 2006.
What's worse tho, the market where is is meant to have originated is now back open.
They had a full lock down for 12 weeks and now back working.
We have a soft lock down and it will take much longer than 12 weeks.
I would just bill to China for everything happened...most of the flu viruses are coming from them...
I won't be buying anything from China even if it means paying more. It is usually bad quality tat anyway.
Lynibis most of the clothing comes from China...even the Next ones, and lots of things have parts which made there...it will be hard to avoid them.
They also sell beans to EU and Lidl and Aldi label them made in EU...but the beans are grown in China.
I think government should realize how bad is to not have certain industries this time.
AgnesFaludi maybe I should have said where possible. At least clothing can be given a good wash but no way will I buy food from there. It disgusts me that communist countries have rich affluent leaders who want for nothing but still have 'peasants' who cannot even get decent food. As George Orwell said in Animal Farm: All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.
Communism is a great idea...but it is just not working because of the greedy people...but in that system less people can get rich than in others...I lived in communism and we had no homelessness, everyone had a safe job and the country owned all the factories and industries....we were blocked from the influence of the West, we also did not had fast food and Milka chocolate, but life was going on. People had friends and it was more based on socializing...go to camps together vibe. Only problem was we were under Russia...so felt like a war zone.
My husband is driving me nuts with his conspiracy theories He thinks it is all planned. His latest idea is that it is not a virus at all but a chemical (he watched some video about it) I tried to explain why that wouldn't make sense, but he was having none of it. He thinks I'm deluded for believing in mainstream news (BBC, Sky).
Glitterandgold He is right to be cautious but let's face it, they're mainly reporting what we can see and hear the politicians saying in person with all the Downing Street updates at the moment. It's a great time to assess how much they sugar coat or dramatise the facts because that's all they do really.
Dennab Fair point. It's just hard to assess sometimes which bits are sugar coated & which are dramatised & scare mongering.
