Coronavirus - to Holiday or Not?
Ask a Question
Partner now doesn't know whether to go on holiday (Spain) at end of month or not. What does anyone think?
you May not be able too if government puts us on lockdown maybe your husband right not to go
This has not been taken seriously from the start. Immediately the governments of the world should have acted more quickly. Stopped all holiday flights, put up mobile checking stations, told people to stay in wherever possible, given public broadcasts on how to protect yourself etc.
Any contagious disease has a pyramid effect, 4, 8, 16, 32, then 64 and 128. Money exchanges hands, we all touch hundreds of items per day and it is impossible to find, contact all those who have had shared facilities with each of us. Plus there will always be those who couldn't care less and are happy to pass it along.
I am worried as I have two chronic conditions that impare my auto immune system, plus I am getting on. My job involves going to others homes daily, handling babies and children, what about them?
Lots of others in same situation and air con and heating is also an enemy.
Two year ago we came back from Ibiza on a Sat, I went to work Monday, couldn't get out of bed Tuesday morning, struggled to Doc who didn't seem bothered that I'd just come back from hols, 3 weeks later started to test for Legionnaires and Pontiac disease, by which time triggers had gone. Was off work for 7 weeks and still don't know what I had. Other half NEVER got it and showed no signs of illness. Life eh?
I am set to go to Romania and Bulgaria in April.
Neither has had a case yet, but I am watching and waiting with interest.
I'm also really glad I took out travel Insurance at the same time I booked.
Hope you get. What is of concern is 'where have others come from' you can't really ask other hotel guests before you sit next to them. As Lynibis says there are those who couldn't care less.
lilyflower Agreed, some people deem themselves far too important to let a virus alter their behaviour and movements.
Depends on whether or not you need to come back straight away. Even if you can get out, they might detain you at the other side for a quarantine period. I know people who were supposed to go away, but they’ve decided against it, even though they’re losing their money over it as they’re not entitled to a refund
