Customers Are Promised £67 Million Pounds in Rebates
In the News
Water companies have been ordered to refund customers £67 million pounds over 12 months to compensate for bad service
I read this and thought fantastic, about time they gave something back, until i saw how much that equates to, £3.50 on average per customer for the year
This is ' a drop in the ocean ' to coin a phrase
Absolutely ridiculous for customers
At least it is £3.50 going in the right direction. They are buying us a meal deal to say sorry, I would like to say a pint, but getting that for £3.50 is getting harder or Impossible for some.
The rates will probably go up to absorb it and as usual the general public getting shafted.
telmel the water companies should be paying out a lot more to sort the dumping of sewage and the damage to the coastline.
SilverSurfer True S, i posted about this the other day, how they are allowed to get away with it is beyond me
telmel we all know how they are allowed to get away with it but we aren’t allowed to talk about it
£3.50 over a year will not make a difference to even the poorest among us. I would much sooner 67 million go to some good cause like saving the planet, equipment for hospitals, building or converting buildings to hostels for the homeless with staff wages covered for a few years to run them. £3.50 per household? Have never heard such rubbish, that amount of money could do so much good instead of basically disappearing.
What sort of bad service? Turn tap on water comes out, turn tap off water stops etc. I can't see how I'd ever be eligible for any rebate. Surely only a minority would have any basis for a rebate. Saying that I haven't clicked on the link and read the story so I'm writing blind.
Rather than refund their customers such a paltry amount the companies should be forced to make repairs and not lose so much water to leaking pipes.
