Dad Leaves Sweet Shop with Daughter 10 over X-Rated Display by Till
In the News
When I originally read this title I thought he might be being a little prudish. Until I saw what they were selling
From the outside there was no indication they were selling stock that would have been more appropriate for Anne Summers
I totally agree with his stance and I am pleased to see that they have removed the stock
Clearly says Kingdom of Sweets so who would expect such items to be on sale within. Smacks of a perverted mind to me as it is an open invitation to kiddies and should be renamed Adult Kingdom of Sweets.
If they had an restricted over 18 area it wouldn't be too bad, but to have them in plain sight by the till!
in what world is that deemed acceptable?
I am not prudish but I think that they should have had them in a over 18 area and not by the till
I remember the days when adult magazines were on the top shelf out of little ones eyesight.
They should have had this section towards the back or maybe in a separate area (at the back of the store) with a sign clearly marked 18+
I'm more shocked by the prices of confectionery in Kingdom of Sweets and other similar shops that sell imported American treats. There are currently a dozen or so of this type of shop along Oxford Street in London. I'm not sure how they can make money as I often walk past them and they usually have little or no customers in them. I'm assuming landlords are giving them a special rate just to have someone in the shop.
