Turkey & Syria Earthquakes - Please Donate What You Can To Help
Other
I don't know if it is ok to share this topic even here.
I cannot find any proper words to tell how I'm feeling for a few days.
I'm from Turkiye, and as you know, there are 3 big earthquakes happened in 10 big cities which affected most of my country. Lots of people died, and the survivors are trying to live! The weather conditions are so challenging! They have nothing. I lost my students, my colleagues, nearly all relatives of my friends died and most of them are still under the collapsed buildings.
In all cities of UK, in all Turkish community centres, people are getting donation. I'm not talking about money, don't misunderstand, even if you have money, you cannot buy anything there. My cousin said they are trying to find some bread yesterday! If you can do anything dear friends, please go to any Turkish mosque, centre, restaurants or else and donate. Now they need blankets, socks etc as it is snowing in Turkiye!
My family is safe and secure thank God but they had to spend 2 nights outside. And guess how I feel! And I cannot guess how the people in 10 cities are trying to survive!
I'm sending my apologies if I have said something wrong! But please even a pair of socks is everything for most of the children who already lost their family!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi ulfetc I am so sorry to hear about your friends and relatives, my children's school are having a non-uniform day to raise money and are asking for donations of clothing and toiletries too. I have just amended your title so people know what this topic is about. Thank you very much
My condolences to you for losing many people you knew it's very very sad what has happened I will be helping them through charities.
Nadiaparveen Thank you very much! I hope no one in the world live that kind of pain!
Sending you some love and condolences, I can only imagine the heartbreak.
I was listening to a request for money donations only because of the logistics getting coats and blankets to those in need.
Pjran Thank you very much indeed, please dont misunderstand me, people need blankets, coats, socks, pampers etc, not money, I mean I dont want money donation, it is -23 in many places where my cousins are volunteer. People died because of hypothermia and I dont want to lose other people Thanks for your kind words again
I am so sorry to hear about your family and friends and what they are going through. I have been watching it on the news, it is just heartbreaking.
Our local collection point had to ask people to stop donating for a few days so they could get everything sorted out as they had so many donations but not enough room to store everything. It is good to know that people are trying to help in whatever small way they can.
MrsCraig Thank you very much. I think each location point has a different route to follow. In our point, they stopped accepting clothes now, thank God, lots of great people helped us. But still we need tents and blankets. Thank you very much again. I hope no one will face that kind of disaster...Never.
rowley1943 Thank you very much for your generosity and kindness. I hope no one will face the fear of earthquake never.
