Dishwasher Has Flooded the Kitchen!
Other
I put the dishwasher on, went to do other things, my husband went in about 20 minutes later to make dinner and there was water all over the floor! The water isn't draining away. We have turned it off, removed the filter, checked the drain isn't blocked and it still isn't working! I'm just glad that my husband caught it fairly early on and it was enclosed to one area and didn't spread to the whole kitchen or out into the hallway! Don't really fancy having to get a new one but I use it everyday!
I feel your pain, having had a couple of appliances break this week.
Trouble is we are so used to Dishwahsers that going back to handwashing feels like a real drag.
blacklabrador it's only 5 years old so I didn't expect it! I don't want to hand wash all the dishes, I've got enough to do with my toddler, but I also don't want to pay for a new one! I feel as if the house is against me and trying to ruin my savings goal! I know it's not, but that's how I felt!
You shouldn't have to replace your dishwasher, it'll be a problem with the pump, it'll be blocked and is easy enough to check and fix using you tube as a guide and a half ounce of common sense, or if you need to get someone in, it shouldn't cost too much.
pato we have already used YouTube and our common sense to check the pump and there is nothing blocking it. We have checked everything else that we can thing of and that Google has suggested, short of taking all the different tubes off, which we don't want to do as we aren't professionals. The problem is getting someone in to look at it as we are currently snowed in.
Perhaps you should have made the most of the flood by going swimming in your kitchen? After all, all swimming baths are closed at the moment so you may as well.
You could have frozen pipes because it's been so cold and water cant go though . That's why I've not use my washing machine
nicolajaynehend we've used the washing machine lots and not had any issues, plus our pipes are insulated, but I suppose it's possible. Think it's more likely the dishwasher has an issue as the water is just sitting in the bottom of it.
My daughters washing machine leaked all her kitchen the other day and she posted online she was having a foam party.
eyeballkerry I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't the 5th thing to go wrong in the house in the last 2 months! I'm waiting for the next thing now!
