DIY Candles for Christmas Gifts?
Ask a Question
I am thinking of making candles for Christmas, mostly just for family and friends but possibly to sell on places like etsy etc.. I have seen some very crafty people on some different Facebook groups and I'd like to have a go of it myself.. Has anyone made candles for sale,, is it easy to do or even worth it?
I’ve made them for family and friends but haven’t sold them as I’ve not looked into the fire safety aspect and what insurances I’d need if I sold them. They’re really easy to make though and only take a few minutes so I’d definitely recommend making them.
Soap is another good option that’s pretty quick too - you do need more supplies for that though and it’s more expensive up front if you’re just making a few.
I’m thinking of doing the same thing, I looked online for guides on how to make them and found this if it’s any help to you: https://www.veganfoodandliving.com/features/how-to-make-your-own-vegan-candles-at-home/
marty44.. take a look on a website called cosy owl (they have YouTube tutorials too) and they sell all your things you need plus they have all the safety info etc for selling. You need to make sure your a**e is covered with candles etc. You add fragrance oil (scent) and you need to detail your CLP labels to put on your candles to show what's in the fragrance oil. It sounds a headache but it's not once you've got your head around it.
I used to make & sell wax melts and have made a few candles but not since my little girl arrived as I simply don't have time now. Will probably pick it up again once she's older.
I have made all sorts over the years as gifts, honestly Pinterest inspires me so much. I also have a cricut maker which is amazing for little crafters.
