Does Anyone like the Ballet?
Ask a Question
I used to love watching ballet when I was a kid, but nowadays I just find them expensive and long! And a tad pretentious too
Like a lot of people I have always felt I should try things at least once before saying I don't like it. However, my one experience of ballet was one too many. Having said that, I guess if someone invited me to see Swan Lake I wouldn't say no as I adore Tchaikovsky's music score. In fact love nearly all his music.
I think my 2 favourites are Swan Lake and the Nutcracker mainly because of the music, as I do enjoy classical music, as they really set the mood. They’re definitely worth checking out
I can't afford to go see it at the theatre but I do really love the live action relays they do in cinemas now. You also get to see all the backstage stuff which is fun and you always get a good view. In some of the posher cinemas like Everyman you really feel the atomsphere too. I've watched The Nutcracker the last two years running at Everyman and also Swan Lake and the opera La Traviata. Not bad for around £10 a ticket.
