Dog Walks + Heatwave= .....

At present once again the UK is in another heat wave .
I have not been taking my Frankie, sausage dog, for a walk as it is far too hot and it will burn his feet.
However the amount of people I am seeing outside with their dogs is ridiculous, surely they are burning their dogs feet and causing dehydration.
I know others that are taking out their dogs during the early hours so that they are being kept cool and not burning their feet.
what are your thoughts on this?
I try and take my dogs for small little walks just to top of the street and back down. When warm like this I always make sure back doors are always open for them to go into back garden if desperate
Really frustrating to see people walking dogs when it’s really hot, their paws can be burnt on the pavement and also heatstroke is a big risk. I either don‘t walk them and just let them out in the garden or wait till really late and even then not a very long walk as it’s usually still very warm in the evening, although not as much and the pavement will be a lot cooler.
I have a cat who is very shrewdly resting beside the fan. Must be hot with all that fur on. A sausage dog must burn easily like a white cat or a ginger one.I would do walkies after sundown.
MelissaLee1963 I even get the lead out and he turns away. He is too hot to want to do anything. Well expect eat and sleep on his cooling mat.
I am looking after son's two dogs while he's away but apart from their welfare am concerned about mine too in this heat, so have stayed indoors. The second night I took them out at 9pm before dark but it still exhausted me having two of them on leads. Sadly they will have to do without until the weather breaks. I don't own any pets but I too have been disgusted to see owners walking dogs on hot pavements, where is their common sense.
I foolishly walked to the local shop in Australia in bare feet as a teen and had blisters by the time I got back so I wouldn't put an animal through that!
It's like what, 30 or 35 degrees? Hardly a heatwave.
If this is bad, don't visit Iberian countries. 
PhilipMarc it is a heatwave for the UK. I love travelling and used to heat when I am away, but no air con or swimming pool to dip into.
PhilipMarc maybe you are one of the lucky ones who doesn't suffer in the heat but most dogs have furry coats and sensitive paws they must walk on. From previous comments I have your age at around 30. Just wait until you are 70+ with chronic illnesses and then see if you feel that 30+ temps are not a heatwave! Also very bad for babies and the very young.
There are things in life that some people can bear and others can't, some like others don't, some enjoy and some don't. I may be wrong but I am guessing that many more people dislike this heat than like it.
Doing normal work and chores is exhausting and it is surely not normal to have people dying and out of control town and country fires due to the heat.
PhilipMarc I'm not going to a liberian country! The air temperature may be 30+ but the ground is hotter. I have a thrometer and on Wednesday my patio was 48c and this is what the posts are about!
I'd do the walks in the evening. By that point the garden is cool enough for my two cats to play outside.
I have to be careful because my 2 are flat nosed breeds.
They had a small walk Monday evening, but I don't envisage them going out at all before the end of the weekend.
I have kept ours inside when the heat is unbearable. I don't take her out for walks in this heat, she gets in the garden when needed and that's it. Far too hot for her.
Yesterday afternoon I walked out onto our patio with no shoes on and boy did I leg it, the slabs burnt my feet so imagine what it would do to dogs.
I was told to take dogs very early in the morning ie between 5 and 6 in the morning my dad used to say if your foot burns when you but it on grass sand or pavement... dogs will feel the same thing infact my poor dog has a blister on his pad were it's hit the sand I feel so bad
My neighbour walks his regardless of how hot it is ,he's also using his hosepipe he thinks he's above everyone else
Dog culture s more pronounced in USA and Western European counties. Probably it’s because of loneliness.
Asians and Africans do keep them but probably only 10 % of the houses. They don’t keep dogs inside houses too but they are kept under the shade outside in the house premises. Weather so also a key factor as to why they can be and are kept outside.
Dog phoo is also only seen to be picked and collected by hands in west.
