Well Done to the Isle of Man

In the News

Nice to see some normality returning in some places.

We can hope that the UK will be following suit soon but it could still be a while away.

Well done - but it must be pointed out that it is much easier for a smallish island (like the Isle of Man, population about 85K and quite spread out), to isolate from the outside world better than much larger islands. Good to see they're not relaxing the restrictions on being able to visit.

I know it its much smaller than the UK and cant be fully compared but if we had of actually closed the borders properly like the Isle of Man then we could have been closer to where the Isle of Man are now.

Getsome It was much easier for them to close their borders, I agree that it might have been better if we'd done more to close our borders. There are numerous other small islands who have had an advantage in being able to control the virus by closing their borders.

It's also why if we could find an uninhabited island large enough, we could dump all the Covidiots on it, I'm not an uncaring person so we could drop them essential* items... by parachute.

*(a few packets of paracetemol and a few spades to bury the Covidiots who found out, too late, that unlike with a mild flu, the paracetamol wasn't sufficient).

davidstockport Its not might it would have been better. I'm all for idiots like that going on an island but that's only half the problem, If they go then most of the government who made the late decisions need to go as well.

Getsome I'm don't respond to comments, that become political (it's against chat guidelines) other than to say "I don't respond to them"😀

davidstockport They should probably change the chat guidelines and include covid idiots in not to be talked out as they are one half of the problem and you ain't allowed to talk about the other half. Crazy

Getsome There are numerous forums where politics and religion are permitted, this site decides they aren't. Covidiots aren't a political or religious issue - they come from all political and religious persuasions.

davidstockport I know that its just annoying everyone is blaming covidiots when its only half the problem because you cant mention the other!
