Dont Tell the Bride

Ask a Question

I’ve been watching Don’t Tell The Bride on repeat.. for the first time today, I saw the groom actually prioritise his bride and sacrifice his stag do so that his bride could have a good hen do within the budget, he spent less money on the bridesmaid dresses so he could spend more on the wedding dress, etc.. usually the grooms come across as very selfish!

Would you trust your partner to plan your wedding with £14,000??

What do you think of this?

Yep, he would probably just do a nice lunch in a restaurant and spend the rest on useful stuff like a car or a down payment for a house!

You’re not allowed to do that on the show 🤣 I think you have to spend the full £14,000 on the wedding as it has to be something they can make an hour long show out of and it has to be something dramatic!

Yes I would definitely trust my husband to have planned our wedding. He actually designed our invites, picked out the centrepiece, helped pick the flowers, helped pick the cake flavours, picked the music for the ceremony, picked the reading for the ceremony, picked our first dance song, picked the table names and he was consulted on everything. He probably wouldn't have bothered with some of the smaller details that I felt were important, but we would still have had an amazing day. Our wedding didn't cost as much as 14 grand, so I never understood how they could squander the money the way they did. The guy who spent the majority off the money on flights to Vegas, I'm still amazed she married him. I wonder how many of them are still married.

I was thinking that too, I wonder how many of them are still together - they should definitely do a “where are they now” show! I do wonder with the brides who say “if he picks the wrong dress I’m not marrying him” etc, I cant see them lasting!

sarahgreen15 I would definitely watch a where are they now show! Yeah there are a few of them I've watched and thought why are they getting married!! For me the most important part was that we got married, I didn't care that it was torrential rain or that my uncle didn't come to the the reception because he wanted to watch whatever programme was on, we were married. My mum always said, your wedding is one day, its everyday after that you need to really focus and work on.

Aww that's good to hear he did that .. I loved that show but it be would so annoying when the grooms would pick the worst possible themes and settings ...the complete opposite of what their partner would want 😂😂

I know 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think you just dont get on the show unless you come up with some whacky idea that will make good tv and the brides pretty much always want a “classy, traditional wedding in a nice fancy venue” which would make for boring tv 🤦🏻‍♀️

I can't believe how clueless some of the men on that show are. They don't seem to have any idea what their fiancé's want at all. How they always get everything so wrong amazes me. It does show a bad representation of men though, all my male friends and family members have done a brilliant job supporting their wives with the wedding and given them an incredible day. Maybe they just pick men they know will be useless to do the show to make it more entertaining

They definitely do! I think the crazier the idea, the more likely you are going to get accepted on the show.. but it’s things like the style of dress, the hen do etc that they should be able to give the bride what they want and they so often get it wrong 🤦🏻‍♀️

sarahgreen15 I agree with you, the men usually get it wrong. If I were the brides going on the show and I knew my partner was going to pick everything, I would definitely have a word with them before to give them an idea of what I would like

I really enjoyed this one when it started but, like some of the earlier comments, the more selfish/quirky the grooms are the better chance of getting chosen for the show. I can't quite understand how the Bride can forgive some of the stupid and downright mean choices the Grooms come up with. sarahgreen15 I will try to catch-up on this episode as it sounds like a good one - where was it set?
