How Early Do You Start Christmas Shopping?

Hi sarahgreen 15. It's never to early to start shopping for Christmas gifts. Like you my funds are limited. So I start now. Not just for Christmas gifts I all so get the cards warping paper any thing I need for the tree. This helps me a lot. Then in September to wards the end I start my food shop. Has I live on my owe and this helps to spread the cost of Christmas for me. And not only that if you get it now it's a lot cheaper then it would be in December. If I was you I would start now. You said you have seen some things. And who knows you might be finish earlier.

Never too early to start Christmas shopping. Grab your bargains whilst you can throughout the year and save a small fortune. Sounds good to me.

I started buying for Xmas a couple of months ago.... trouble is I’m quite good at buying but rubbish at saving stuff til Xmas !!! When the grandkids are here i just usually dob out their presents to them then !!!

I start about now too. I'm always impressed by others that are in the zone just as Christmas is over but I just can't whip up the enthusiasm at that time. I've ordered a few gift sets (that I shared on this site today) to start the ball rolling and, now that I've started, I will add to it when I see a bargain. I've only once started very early in the year and by the time the prezzie wrapping session came round I'd completely forgotten the amazingly secret places I'd hidden many of them in.

I bought several packs of 10 Christmas cards from Barnados Charity Shop in June for £1.20 a pack, reduced from £3.49.

I think that's probably my earliest Christmas buy this year, but if ever I'm near a Christmas Shop I can't resist going in for a browse. We have built a big collection of vintage style glass baubles over the years, which I love.

I usually buy my Christmas cards from Paperchase a few days after the 25th December and put them in a drawer until the following year. For presents I'll start picking things up in October.

already sstarted putting the odd bit away when extremely cheap. I have a presents hideaway and just keep adding throughout the year. We have several children in our Family Inc nieces and nephews so i know it won't go to waste

I start shopping as soon as I see something that I know someone would really love, so realistically this could be January. It’s great spreading the cost over the whole year, and not buying something for the sake of it in December

It depends how inspired I'm feeling but I usually start looking out for things from September. Then I have time to think of a plan b if the first things don't work out!

yup 2nd the starting boxing day- i buy either big items that i know are much wanted or buy stocking fillers, gifts for teachers, the dog! Always leave some for around november when family have begun to make suggestions and for children whose tastes change with trends. My budget is mini and this way I am able to buy brands and better quality- I love christmas too! Have ALL my wrapping paper ready to roll m ans s which I got last jan for 30p

Actually, sometimes earlier - I sometimes get carried away and buy too much for one person, because I can't resist a good deal, so I save it for the year after...

If you see something at a good price that's perfect for someone, buy it (funds permitting). It'll only cost you more to buy it later in the year.

I start saving up at the beginning of the year. And I start getting a bit in each week from early September when the kids go back to school.
