Easter, How Much Do You Buy?
Ask a Question
What and how much do you buy your kids or partners for easter?
I have seen loads of people on fb the last week or two asking what/how much to buy & people arguing over whats enough and whats too much.
My kids have a few eggs and some toys/clothes.
My husband and I buy an egg, we normally get given one by my parents. My son is too young for eggs, but he will get a small egg when old enough and thats it.
I did not buy anything for my husband...maybe will get something for him, but he does not like chocolate much.
For my daughter...got toys and lots of eggs...maybe will get more later
I saw the post too - rather sad that people should should even comment on, what started out as, a Mum sharing her clever project for her children. My feelings are really simple - buy what you want or what you can afford. I've always tried to limit an overload of chocolate and substituted it with toys/clothes/treats but it's my family and my choice. The people who disagree should stop being so judgemental or, at the very least, keep their opinions to themselves. (the grown-ups tend to get one each )
I always loved easter as a kid it was the next best thing to birthdays and christmas. I always had a ton of eggs & presents. I like to make easter a bigger deal than just one egg but thats just how ive been brought up. I only buy a few eggs though because my 13 year old boy is slightly overweight as it is and they get eggs off other family and friends.
KirsteyJames I always loved Easter as a child too. It was full of games, making cards and lots of chocolate. I make a great deal of organising an egg hunt around the house and garden with riddles etc. and similar for the adults........but it involves wine. lol.
I spend nothing on eggs
no I don’t feel guilty lol
she won some on the raffle so she has a egg fix
Nothing. Because Easter is not real. And eggs have no meaning and the whole holiday makes no sense. WE do not celebrate it and no one I know celebrates it. But I'll eat cheap chocolate eggs 2 days afterwards no problem.
Nothing more than any usual weekend except for a chocolate egg for youngest grandchild, other two are too old. For me Easter has more importance than that of buying/eating chocolate, Easter bunnies, chicks etc.
I got my grandchildren a box each put a small easter egg in and some new clothes and a few little toys. It was sort of an easter egg hunt in a box !! I have 3 beagles and theres no way i wouldve been able to hide chocolate in the garden without them finding it and needing a trip to the vets !
