Ethics and Cheap Veg

Ethics and cheap Veg
With the competition on how cheap we can get veg for, do you think that, the pricing of these items, are doing farmers any favours? Or are we forcing them to take less and less every time we see reductions in the shops?
I know it's good for us but is it ethical in the long run? Are these farmers going to be in business soon if we take the money from their pockets?
I would think the price to the farmers was agreed months ago by the supermarkets when they placed orders, and as previously said I think this may be a loss leader for the supermarkets, it's only for a few weeks and if it encourages people in store to buy other things the supermarkets can stand the loss on this veg. Also many farmers receive Government & EU subsidies so probably not as bad as it first looks for the farmers
