Have you paid your child’s dinner money? Help, we need parents to volunteer! Please bring in 50p for Adopt a Polar Bear Day ... there's no denying school email newsletters are pretty relentless!
Perhaps we should all send in begging letters citing the schools use of our childrens' time!

Hope the traffic improves, yes years ago the 'ask' from the school was less but still constant.
Every week my childs school want money for something or otherwise. they have a non uniform day nearly every week for £1 or a bottle or chocolate. endless cake sales or charity events
It becomes very wearing on the parents and the parents pockets... Also, if they constantly have non-uniform days it detracts from the position they take on wearing it in the first place and doesn't offer consistency to the children, it actually promotes the fact that everything can be bought!
Yes,my daughter is at secondary and I pay for her lunches.She has the option of taking a lunch but refuses 
her friends have school dinners too, all adds up,next year they are planning on two trips,Italy&France..can't do both.Wish they would just choose a nice location in the UK instead
My son rarely spent his dinner money on dinners (the toad) but what can you do?! School trips are another 'animal' in themselves as the children quite often want to go but the costs, especially at secondary school, can be astronomical. I agree that you have to make choices and two trips a year isn't even a sensible move by the school. I hope your daughter enjoys whichever trip she goes on. 
He is funny....but it is right...schools do this and it gives a headache, because they have something going on every week
I think most schools are relentless and this is especially so if they ask for a 'voluntary' donation because as we all know there is nothing voluntary about it!
tumblespots When rainbow run came up I started to think about it....because it is a symbol now and maybe should not be used in schools.
AgnesFaludi The thing is that schools now promote 'rainbow' which they never would when we were at school. We all know that it takes all sorts to make a world but personally I don't think they should actually promote it. Fortunately my son left school years ago and I don't personally have to deal with this. I wouldn't donate anything to that one.
